Some hard luck news

OK I have some bad news. For the first time in eight years it appears I will be missing Ford Carlisle. Due to some personal medical issues I have to make a decision right away that will affect my coming to Carlisle... at least I think that is the case at the moment.

I'm very involved with the planning of the El Camino 50th Anniversary celebration with the Carlisle people. My El Camino will be one of the featured vehicles in Building T, it's featured in the show book, I'm in charge of all the club trophies and banquet, tent, etc. etc. I'm even a "Celebrity Judge." I simply can't miss GM Carlisle. So my Dr. tells me I have a choice... treatment now and be fine for the end of June or wait two weeks (come to Ford) and possibly not be OK for GM.

I'm really pissed about this because I look forward to Carlisle every year, especially sparring with Brad!

I haven't canceled the room at the Comfort Suites yet as this isn't 100% sure yet but it looks less and less likely each day. If anyone needs the room let me know and IF I do need to cancel I can transfer it to your name.

Sorry guys but I really don't have much of a choice here. *&$*&#^%$!!!!:banghead::banghead::banghead:
 
damn, Leo. That's a shame. You'll be missed to be sure, but your health is undoubtedly more important. My best wishes for a speedy recovery.
 
Leo, it'd be terrible not to have you at Carlisle, but your health should always be first. I wish you all the best, and hope things work out.
 
WOW Leo!!! What a decision to make....health, Carlisle1,Carlisle2....Best of luck with whatever you do...Health comes first so there can be many more Carlisle's.
 
We will sure miss you, Leo . . . especially when we see a wi-fi spot . . . :(

Brad is really disappointed he doesn't get to torture you.
 
It just won't be the same without Leo and Moose, that's for sure. :(

Leo, I wish you the best but you gotta do what you gotta do. Get yourself taken care of and we'll be rootin' for ya! :)
 
Thanks guys, actually it's minor vascular surgery on my legs but the problem is having to be immobile during the recovery period. Real bummer I tell you but I have to be OK for GM Carlisle and especially for the show I run in July. Everybody... don't forget to visit the LOD bench and see Alexander's plaque and pay your respects. Maybe take a group picture we can send to Julie? It wasn't on the bench last year and didn't appear until Truck Carlisle in August. It's a beautiful plaque.

I'll be home Fri morning and fully intend to be occupied all weekend texting you guys and having beers at this end in tribute!

JP, you should be all set for the Saturday lunch and Celebrity Judging. If not, call me Friday.
 
Brad and I went to the Gingerbread Man tonight, but it just wasn't the same . . . the food didn't even taste as good. We're missing you already, Leo!!
