Speaker noise from new head unit

I just installed a new head unit in my 98. Got one of those Chinese android units. I get a popping and crackling noise from the speakers a few minutes after I turn off the car. I did not bypass the amplifierDoes anyoe have thoughts on what could be causing this?

Other than this, everything works as expected.

Maybe a bad install. If the speakers are popping when the radio/car is off they are still getting power somehow. Rechecked your power connections to make sure they are correct and of course the grounds.

Did you get any noises before you changed the head unit? Do the noises go away after the radio has been off for a while?

I am confident the install is good. The noise is very consistent in sound and timing. It is about 60 seconds after the car is turned off. As if a capacitor is releasing its energy. I think the radio has a timed delay in turning off the external amp. I need to email the radio maker.

My green car made a noise similar after the car was shut off, that was before the amplifier quit working. You might want to open the amp and check the capacitors for leakage.

maybe it's the new head unit discharging some capacitors, it should have some amplification, bypass the amp and listen carefully to what happens after turning it off.
