Sunday Fun

What a great day it was here today. Temp was mid to low 70's, completly sunny, not a cloud in sight, and a slight breeze in the air. It was fabulous.

A friend of mine, and myself where headed out towards the mall. Had to pick some stuff up, and I'm crusing along at 75. When I see behind me a fast approaching vehicle. It flies past me and I see its a Mercades 320. Well its not much of a match, but I'll run it down with the Lincoln. So I mash the gas and switch lanes to get behind him. His 3 car length lead or so on me quickly evaporates and I switch over to the lane to the right of him and pull even. Then had to slow down because of traffic. We slow back down and are cruising along and I had gotten ahead of him in traffic. He pulls along side of me when we clear and gives me a thumbs up and then motions ahead. I let him take the jump and then I just rape him. Took him from 80 - 120. Had about 5 - 6 bus lengths when I let off.

Picked my stuff up that I needed, and was heading back. This time I notice a car behind me swirving in and out of traffic driving like a complete idiot. I take my exit, and then he suddenly swirvs in front of me after the exit had allready started branching off. And he speeds off. I'm doing 75 on the exit, and he is pulling away from me. Once we get through the interchange I run him down and I see its a Civic SI hatchback. The friend of mine in the car is like dude, those are fast man! I was like really... its a civic. He's like there fast man. So I thought we should find out. I pulled in behind him at 80, and the first straight shot he got he hit the gas. I immedietly went to the floor but had to quickly let up as not to run him over. A little while later he's shuffling between lanes trying to get ahead. I hold my lane and he's getting anxious to get around. My lane starts makeing progress, so he does a quick lane change from the right, to the left and had to have come within an inch of takeing my bumper off. So now I'm really upset. And I take off trying to get away from this guy. I let the mark stretch its legs and have pulled 3 or 4 cars on this guy, but he's persistant and comes right back like a mosiquto. He comes flying back up stares at me from the other lane and then takes off. Not to be outdone, I give chase. He had a 1/2 car length jump on me at most, but I'm not pulling on him. The Mark is doing all it can just to hold its ground. Then we hit about 90, and I start inching up on him. My front bumper is about even with his side mirror. And then all of a sudden he swirves and I slam on my brakes and swirve to the left to avoid becomeing a wrecked car. I am furious by now. And I chase back up onto him, no trouble pulling on him this time. (wonder if he used some laughing gas on the run before) I quickly switch lanes and fly past him, and then I decide he's a dangerous enough of a driver and decide to do a rolling road block and keep him at the speed limit. About 5 miles later my exit comes up and I speed off and he won't even look at me as I take the exit.

The last run of the day came with a Mercades SL 500. Beautiful car. Silver, HIDs, top down. Was great. My friend and I had decided to take a drive down the river, and we were running on the back roads which are all hilly and curvy. Very very little traffic on these roads so I'm pushing the Mark fairly well because its so exilerating. Running 75 through places that have recomended speeds of 45 with ease. When the guy comes up on me after comeing out of a turn. I'm accelerating through 65 and he moves out into the other lane like he's going to pass. Don't think so big fella, and I let the Mark eat up the asphalt. Run up to 90 and dig into the next turn. The Mercades has tucked back in behind me and we run on the verge of triple digit speeds for the next 5 or 6 miles. I turn into Pierre Marquette (for those of you that know this area) and the guy follows. I go on up to the scenic overlook and park, and this guy pulls in next to me. Get out and we start BSing. He was shocked by the Lincoln. First car he hasn't passed with ease (so he says) Just wanted to check out what I had done to the car that made it handle as well as it did on the turns and hills and why it accelerated the way it did. I popped the hood and with the help of my friend was able to tell him I was completly stock. He was just completly dumbfounded. Felt good. Not really a kill, but I'll still mark it down. :)

That was funny stuff! LOL!

RE: Sunday Fun

Wow, I wish I had days like that around here. It seems like I'm lucky to get one good street race a month. :) Nice Kills my man!!!!

RE: Sunday Fun

youre lucky either of those mercs wasnt one of the tiny slk kompressor 2 seaters. i was beaten by one about 4 times one night on the highway. anyone else have any problems with these things?

nice kills, btw.

RE: Sunday Fun

When you race on the highway, you can bet the guy in the other car has the A/C on (BIG DRAG on the Engine).

Those 320's are nothing but V6's, Marks should be able to eat them for breakfast.

Now about that 500, i dunno about the SL's, but I know for fact that the S500 is a VERY close match for a stock Mark.

It's very hard to race luxury cars now a days and get accurate results due to the learning transmissions.

all I gotta say is good job :)
