SuperMark run's 12's in Drive.

Well we finally got the old hag to the track for the first time in its life.

Other then being VERY humid and ripping the dr's off the rims it ran great.

Couldn't get but 1lb of boost stalling up and tires went to hell.

First run: 13.30 because we tried leaving it in 2nd gear figuring with the 3.07's (what we were told by Tasca) would have been sweet right at 6800 r's through the traps.

Well guess what?

It has 3.55's and it bounced off the rev limiter for the last 150 feet!

Still went 101 on that run with a 2.01 60ft.

Second run was done right after a major oil down (there were two of them last night) and she went 13.08 @102 and change.

Third run it was still losing traction but managed a 1.85 60ft with a 12.97 @ 103.9!!

All the runs were in drive with crap plugs.
The next time out it will have genuine slicks at 8lbs pressure and I will try manually shifting it because the shifts in drive were bone stuck slush box crap!

The car has 12 and half in it all day long if not better.

On the way there and back we got 26.4 mpg.

Here's some shots:

Finally.

13 secs. Not bad.

Hey, know anybody that sells a chip? That would probably firm up your shifts until you drop the pan.LOL.

Man, that car is awesome. I am sorry I didn't come out to watch it run :(

Did the crowd even know what it was? Did the announcer say anything?

I have a dumb question, where do you keep that car?

Ken

RE: SuperMark run's 12's in Drive.

The crowd was STUNNED!!

Of course EVERYONE that came up to the car said "Wow a Cobra engine in a Lincoln"!!

AARRGGHHH!!

Then I tell them that the Cobra can THANK this car!! They are like "huh?"

Then I tell them the story and they are more then clear and even MORE stunned then beofre!

I cannot explain what it feels like to pop the hood for people and to see that look on their face!!!!

The car is kept at Walt's house because he has the Garage and I do not.

Its kept in a foam pdded carpeted garage with a humidifier and ionizer going all at once. Its true Museum storage.

RE: SuperMark run's 12's in Drive.

I love that car!!!
Did you shut down any non-believers?
I would love to see their faces.

Good point Geno, Cobra copied the Mark!

Neat piece of history you have there, but somehow only 2mph faster than red whore n/a? And 7mph slower than it with the 125 shot? She has to have a lot more in her than that. Keep that thing at the track and pull some decent numbers out of her!!!!! Put some smack down on those other non lincolns out there@@
