Updates on 1/8 mile times... I'm finally in the 8's

I wish i didn't redlight when i raced the yellow Dodge Viper at the end of the night. I was thinking the only way im gonna be able to try and hang with this guy is to cut a near perfect light. Well i cut it too soon. lol But still ran side by side with him, even though he still beat me. He needs slicks more than i do. Check out his 60 ft. He must have been slipping worse than me. Wish i had a video of that. His car was a beautifull bright yellow.

Good runs, all of those would have been in the high 13's. Good job, too bad it wasn't the full 1/4 mile.

Nice. :)

With a 8.82-8.95 in the eighth, you should definitely be in the 13s in the quarter mile. I'd say at the top end of the quarter mile you will still be pulling hard.

Thanks guys, the goal was 8:40s or 8:50's so i still have a long way to go. My tuner is comming today to ride along in car to tweak the shifts in the car. I'm still running the reset base stock Mark 8 granny slush shifts, so i think theres alot more we can get dialed in.

Jeff, I think you and I lined up in the eighth mile would be neck for neck. In the 1/4 mile though I'm sure you would own the top end of the track. ;)

lol Judging from your pic, and times youre right. I'd get owned at the start. i need to work on getting the car to hook first. No sense in going for the bottle till i get launches worked out first. I found a set of used 20 spoke alum rims that im going to have cut down the middle and widened like Dennis did for my slicks out back.

After the converter and chip, I had 'intermittent' traction issues as well with the Nitto drag radials which had served me well up to that point. I elected to go with a Hoosier Quick Time Pro D.O.T. tire on stock rims. I suspect they will do well for me as they have so far.

You on the other hand may be doing the right thing with widened rims and slicks, since you're putting down more HP to the asphalt and planning on a power adder. ;)
