What is the most awesome software?

Name a piece of software that doesn't ever fail to impress you. I would say my top 3 are Dreamweaver, open office, and SolidWorks. Just great, logically laid out, easy to use software. I just started playing with software a day ago and already I am designing custom bike parts on it. I can see why it costs like $1,000 :-X

Yea, I'll second that. I used it all the time for my masters degree project, that and matlab. Two amazing programs. LabView is pretty cool too but I think mathcad and matlab takes the cake for me. Dos was more of a joke, I haven't used that since the early 90's.
 
What do you use MathCad and MatLab for I am reading about them now and I think I understand what they do but not their application.

I'm not sure about MatLab, but MathCad is used for mathematical applications where you write the equation just as it should be in mathematical notation. I don't use it that often, nor to it's fullest extent, but I find it extremely useful for certain projects intensive in multiple formulaes. The natural notation makes it much easier for complex equations.

I mean, what other program out there can turn a garden variety Mark 8 into a BEAST with the click of a few buttons?

Also can lean out the fuel tables to eliminate the UBERRICH calibration that is fat enough to support a supercharger or a 100 shot of nitrous.
