Yay Isaac! Please beg him to bring a Lincoln. And remind him to bring his Sax. You just bring you and your sense of humor.

Unfortunately, the Mark's been victimized by a plow or something and needs body and drivetrain work. I doubt it'll be trip-worthy, let alone show-worthy :(

It doesn't need to be show worthy!

Just don't forget the cooler! ;)

9 more days for cheap pre-registering! Do it! Now! I said so!

Cause really, you can't lose. I do believe the Goody Bags are going to be worth at least what the pre-reg fee is, and what we'll drink will make up for the gas and hotel prices. Not to mention that YOU may be one of the lucky ones who wins the special surprise drawing! But only if you pre-register.....

Everything seems to be coming together nicely on my end. We're planning on coming out a little early, so we can spend Wednesday in Strasburg to ride the restored steam train, and tour the toy train museum. Is anyone else interested in either of those? Let's talk! I think the plan after that, is to spend wed night in Harrisburg, and hit the Yungeling tour Thursday, then off to the show, where I'm hoping Bill's right about that no-reservation camping!

and no, I won't forget the cooler. How am I going to bring all the beer home? Speaking of. I'll be sure to bring some of the local micro-brews, for all who may be interested. Don't forget, I take requests!

Both of my cars are high mileage daily drivers. No show cars here.

I might even have to bring my winter daily driver this year. That would be after repairing the bubbles that appeared on my cheap body repairs this winter.:D

That might even put me in the running for the "Hard Luck" trophy.:)

I wouldn't take a chance if I were you. Other then Spring and Fall events Ford is probably their busiest show. Be sure to pre-register the car and reserve a camp site. This from the Carlisle site:
"Pre-registration for camping and trailer parking is offered to only pre-registered participants of the showfield or swap meet. All others may register at the event should space still be available."

I belive the Corvettes at Carlisle is their biggest specialty show.

Yes, if you want to camp on the Carlisle site, you should get reservations.

I stay at the Volenteer Firefighter's campsite just outside of gate 6. I haven't needed a reservation there yet. The facilities are limited there though.

Not having attended the show before, I'm not sure where I wish to camp.

Is outside gate 6 more or less desirable? less expensive? Limited facilities don't scare me much. I'm used to roughing it. How many of us LoD folks are camping? Are we trying to stick together at all?

Man. This seems like alot of questions. I guess I'm just trying to figure out what I've gotten mysef (and my girlfriend) into. If we get showers inside the gate, but not in the "rustic" camping, I think I know what I have to do. :)

Thanks!
Mike (And, indirectly, Sarah)

I think I was the only LOD member camping at the Volenteer Firefighter camp site for the last 3 years. I think it cost me 30 bucks for the weekend.

The showers are inside the gate, but that's no big deal, It's just a walk away.

Here's a sattelite shot. The fairgrounds are in the middle, and the firefighters campsite is to the right bordered by Cavalry road and Cavalry street. It's just a field with little roads through it. You can see the gate area between the campsite and fairgrounds. You have to drive your car through the main gate but you walk through gate 6 to and from your tent.

Here's one of my "Street Level" views of the campsite.:D

I love it there. The tent stays clean because you're in a feild.

The more I see, the more I like your camping solution. From the looks of your photo, overcrowding isn't exactly a concern. Although I assume this photo was taken early. I also like all the trees I see in the overhead view. This is definitely what I'm leaning toward. Thanks for all the info!

Mike

I couldn't help but notice. Did you get new wheels for the green car? Or swap between the two? :)

It's a little more crowded towards the gate area. I like to stay away from the RV's and trailers as they like to run their generators sometimes.

I switch my wheels around a lot. Right now my red Mark still has the snowflakes and snowtires. My green Mark has the 10 spokes on now, but I'll switch back to the 20 spokes for Carlisle this year.

I'm really looking forward to Carlisle this year.:)
