2008 Carlisle Sign Up - URGENT!

I know, I know, so did I. My license is going to be suspended from May 28th to August 25th. My dad says that as long as I'm under 18, I'm not driving since he'd be the one who'd get in trouble if I got caught, so I brought up Carlisle since I was planning on going while I was 18 anyway. He says as long as the car's not in my name, I'm not taking it (even though I paid for it in full). Since my birthday is on a Saturday, DMV will be closed and I can't transfer the title until Monday at the earliest. I'm going to stop by the day before to see if I can convince them to transfer the title a day early, but I highly doubt it's going to happen. :( There's always next year...

Not sure about the laws in your state, Patrick, but you might want to check if there are any age requirements at all to have a car titled in your name - as a minor.

I transfered the title to a 2003 Stratus R/T that I purchased here in GA, and gave it to my 16 year old daughter that lives in MI without a problem.

The State of MI transfered the title from me to my daughter (issued a new MI title and kept my GA title) with no problem at all. She also purchased license plate/tags at the same time. Just needed to prove she had insurance for the car, and a drivers license. No different than what an adult has to have when they title a car in their name. Good Luck :)

Thanks. I was really looking forward to this, and I've already preregistered, so it'd be a shame for it to go to waste...

Patrick, I'd hate to see you get in trouble. Can you have anyone else drive your car up and join you? Maybe even your dad?

I registered April 7 and put Lincolns of Distinction on the registration form. I've reserved a room at the Courtyard in Mechanicsburg. I plan to arrive Thursday afternoon and leave Sunday morning. I'm looking forward to it since I've missed several years!

Scott

Cool!! Looking forward to seeing you this year!

Well it looks like I can make it after all. Since i'm now single again... I don't have to go to a wedding that weekend. I'm assuming it's too late to pre-register?

Where is everyone staying and how much are rooms running? I'm going to try to do this on the cheap as much as possible. May even camp out in the Navigator, or if someone else is going alone and wants to split a room, I might be up for that. I'd most likely be driving down on Friday.

I have enough points for free nights at wyndham hotels... but the nearest one with available rooms is 19 miles from the fairgrounds.

Round trip fuel in the navigator will cost me $300. 8 hour drive. Maybe i can get a friend to go with me.

Ask your friend Dave, he was fun. Steve is staying far away. My room is running $150 per night (ouch). Hubby might get mad, but you can stay with us if the kid isn't going. My plans are still up in the air a bit though.

And it's not too late to pre-register. Click the link in JP's sig. Some people are camping. If you want to do that, I think we have a tent and stuff somewhere, let me know and I could bring it for you. It'll be so good to see you again!

Free is pretty cheap at Carlisle. ;)

I think the Radisson we used to stay at was that far.

Ok, Isaac and I will be there, I've registered the Saxmobile, but sadly we will be arriving in the Saxiallac. We won't make the beer tour :( but we will be there Fri morning. I'm pretty sure we're at the same hotel as Eric, but I can't remember any of their info...

PAGING ERIC--- e-mail me, badsax@gmail.com

Anyway, there will be partying... lest anyone feel confused about the purpose of this event, it is to party like rock starts... to fight for our right to party, to potentially be uninvited from returning to a hotel (how many times has that happened anyway?) to maybe 'obtain' objects that we didn't arrive with... And last but not least to remember Alexander!

I will have "the cooler" if anyone has any requests let me know, or would like to make donations to the booze for everyone fund, I will be happy to collect.

GOING TO CARLISLE 2008!

BTW Trix, I'm sure we can find you some alternative mode of transportation if you don't wanna do a wheel chair...

I would attach the pic of Mike in the shopping cart we "borrowed" from that liquor store... but I can't figure out how... :( lol

We're gonna party so hard, correct spelling will be the least of our concerns...

We're gonna party like it's Sharon's birthday...

What are you thinking? You going to put a big Blue Oval on the grille? LOL :lolgrin003:

I figured I would just print out a bunch of big color pics of the MK8 and tape them on each side of car...

Although, if I tape Lincoln emblems all over the place, and tape InTech over Northstar under the hood, maybe I could qualify for the modified class... :D

My red MK8 is so crazy modded out, it looks like a black DeVille...

So what is the deal with washing the car at or near the grounds? I know my car is going to look like crap after the drive..........

There is a car wash in town I use after the highway trip.

There are wash stations with garden hoses at the entrance of the fairgrounds. You supply your own bucket and soap.
