Carlisle Fever...

We all know you guys will bring 2... :D

Highly likely. Plus, I want to find a way to attend the Montreal GP which is one week after Carlisle, so I'm wondering if I should stay out that way for the week. Don't tell Hubby. :)

Tell hubby what? :D

That he's taking two cars? :D

Just checking in.

I just wanted to say a "formal" hello, but not such a big one to post in the main forum. I've had a couple changes in my life since Carlisle last year, and wanted to get them out off the way. First, the hard part. Sarah and I have gone our separate ways. And although I still talk to her from time to time, it is unlikely that she will be joining me at the show this year.

which brings me to my next, and more upbeat announcement. I have purchased a house in North St. Paul, MN. My standard "open door" policy still applies. Any and all of you are welcome at any time. For the curious, here is a link to my photo gallery:

which brings me to Carlisle. I do intend to register, but have been waiting until I get the cars registered in MN. (I seem to recall them requiring license plate numbers)

What are folks doing for rooms this year? Does anyone want/need a roomie? or want to meet up to convoy anywhere between Minnesota and PA?

I think that's it for now, but it feels like plenty. Thanks everyone.

Hello to you, too!

:( I'm sorry to hear that, man... was it at least a "nice" separation, and not a cutthroat one like a lot of them seem to be? :\

I'd love to visit if I ever mind myself in Minnesota, but I think I'd have to make a road trip out of it... haha, MN is a ways away from Virginia!

When I registered this year, I don't recall having to put in a license plate number? I did register back in December, though, and I might have been drunk when doing so... hahaha

If you feel like coming down to Virginia before going to PA we can convoy. I don't go straight from VA to Carlisle, though; I weave up through WV and Maryland, making a 200 mile trip into about 400... gorgeous drive, though. I love the "Welcome to West Virginia" signs paired up with "Speed Limit 70." Pretty nice welcome if I do say so myself. haha

I do remember being slightly envious of your description of your drive last year... Hmm.. of course, if I'd just get off the interstate, I'm sure I would have some sightseeing to do too.

haha yeah. Well, the majority of my drive I was on the state highways. But like you said, just no interstate. I think I was on 95 for about thirty miles, then the state highways for 300 miles (haha), then I took 81 into Carlisle...

Mike... You'll have to come right by me to get to Carlisle. I'm heading out Thursday (planning on getting to Carlisle before dark) and have a room for 3 days.

Very good. I just added a note for myself on the calendar. Do you have a departure window set for yourself? I'll try to time my trip to accommodate. You know, if we do this right, I could potentially pick up Sharon, "Funkiller" Mike, and Chris along the route, too. Hmm..

Do we have anything planned yet for this year? Club dinner, banquets, parking garage parties, apartment hopping?

If everyone is leaving on Thursday... I'll time it to meet up with you guys.

The dinner and banquet are planned and reserved with details to be confirmed at a later date. :)

We know who's in charge of the parking garage and apartment hopping festivities. :p

The same guy who coordinates the patio-front hotel parking and alcoholic beverage delivery / transport services?

I have two of the Motorola FRS radios. Nothing fancy, but easy to coordinate. I still have yet to reserve lodging for myself. (unless that was an offer from you, Dean. I hate to assume these things) Last year, I stayed at the Courtyard by the interstate. It was a nice place, but out of the way. Does anyone know if our "block" at the place in town still has rooms available?

A room at the good hotel? :D

:D -J

Well...A room at the quiet hotel anyway. Hotel Carlisle.

If you can put up with my habbits (sleep with the TV on, get up early).. you're welcome to stay. The room is supposed to have two large beds and I asked for a view of the parking lot. It's 4.6 miles to the fairgrounds.
I stayed there last year and it was pretty nice. There's a Dunkin' Donuts across the street for coffee in the morning.

Mike! OK, that answers some of my other questions. So sorry to hear about you and Sarah, please say Hi to her from me when you talk to her. Congrats on the new house!

My plans aren't set yet, although I have the hotel booked, and one car registered.

Yes, we have banquet plans, a block of rooms at the hotel which will host the banquet/parking garage luggage cart races, and I still need to finalize the dinner plans for Friday night (although I now have a contact in the Carlisle area). Vegetarian meals will be available, too!

Thanks for the offer, Dean. Although the early mornings aren't a problem, (usually, anyway.. Carlisle Nights could be a different story.) the TV might be. I'm glad you mentioned it. I'll check out my options. If I can't find any, you may be hearing from me anyway. :)

Sharon, Should I just call the hotel to check on a room then? or do we have a procedure to follow? And thanks for checking on the Vegetarian meal thing. You truly are the best!
