OK, tentative plans for this coming Monday the 14th are:

Possible afternoon trip to Volo Auto Museum, followed by BBQ and hanging out at my house.

If you are attending the BBQ please let me know via post or PM or e-mail or phone call so we know how many to plan to cook for (by we I mean Hubby).

Ok, I'll be there...!!!

Will be in Chicago Thurs till Monday...

Everyone else better come too...

Well Monday was a fabulous day!

The Drillers arrived while I was out getting Mai Tai's (can't go without them on a hot summer day). I won the messiest house bet with Mrs. Driller. :) We went with Mark Darrah up to the Volo Auto Museum, but unfortunately they are mostly closed on Mondays. There was one part open and JP took a lot of pictures. Unfortunately, he did not purchase either the old deep blue Conti or the V-12 Zephyr with suicide doors as our club mascot car. But he did take lots of pics. :)

We had a great BBQ and Hubby did all the work. Mark took his job of pest control extremely seriously (Hubby wouldn't let him bring steaks for the BBQ so he got put in charge of pest control), and we had the coolest tiki lamps which kept away all bugs except for the little gnats.

So 1 great day down and a few more to go! We'll be gearing up for Sax's return to Chicago, and ready to cheer JP on to victory this weekend! And a gallon of Mai Tai's are currently in the frig. :)

Sounds like I missed a great time. :(

By the way, the Volo Auto Museum is just down rte 120 from me.

It was, I'm sorry you weren't able to join us.

But we've gotta go back to Volo again, I can't believe how much it has changed from the last time I was there.

Thanks to all for the hospitality on Monday! The food and company was great! :)

The best deal looks to be to enter the car show and simply park on the grounds. I'm thinking of taking the Harley truck either as a pit vehicle or enter it in the car show. Friends and family will be out Saturday, so we need a place to congregate. ;)

We'll work out some details Thursday and post them up for the weekend. :)

OK, my car is fairly pretty enough to show, if they'll let me. However, this getting there early on Friday and Saturday sounds rather poopy right now (yes I'm up way early to pick up our little Sax at the airport in about 1 1/2 hours!).

The Kid is taking Friday off to join us, too. But he's got that damn paint chipping off his car so I don't know if he'll show her or who's riding with whom yet. But we've got 3 Fords to show if needed. :)

Ok, so first I have to say that Trixie is the best airport pickerupper.
This is the second time that i literally have walked out of an airport and Sharon has been "right there"...
No hunting around, no walking for miles... she's awesome...

Ok, now, who else is in on this thing? Where fixin' for a lot-o-partying.
It'll be like crab huntin' in the crick, and no one wants to miss something like that...

:D -J

Trixie, I left you a message. Call me in the morning, noon or whatever. We'll be up early. ;)

Got the message JP, will call you, but we aren't planning on leaving til around 10:30.

Day one down, day two coming!

Hot.

Muggy.

Rain storm.

2 hour delay.

Other than that, it was great! :D

Thanks to Trixie, Beerdog, the 'kid' and BadSax for coming out and supporting the Lincolns of Distinction Racing Team! :)

JP it's our pleasure... and of course, since I don't have the Saxillac we're at the only place so far that would have welcomed it... :::sniff, tear::: I miss my cooler...

Don't let the jeeps get you down... That MF was 15 different kinds of crazy, and when it comes to style, class, luxury, comfort, um... drivability... ah... wind resistance... yeah, you are clearly "the man"... :D

The drink in my other hand will be for you! Although since we drank every single beer we had already, I guess that will require a little shopping in the AM.

:D -J

PAID MY DUES ONLY 7 MONTHS LATE, A NEW PERSONAL RECORD... :)

We'll be back today! I of course am the first one up, only because I want to be the last to leave, hee hee. I can get real cranky in the heat and humidity and just due to living in general. ;)

However, it was awesome watching JP race! And watching the other cars was fun too. And hanging out on the bed of the truck. And sitting inside the air conditioned truck while the 'boys' were outside in the pouring rain, hee hee.

There's still time for people to show up and watch. Mark Darrah will be joining us today.

Woo Hoo! :D

The Lincolns of Distinction car show team rocked today!

The Harley F150 truck brought in 2 awards and both Trixie and Beerdog will be bringing home hardware from the show. :D

Yes, it was a great day today in spite of setbacks which included much rain!

However, it was all worth it to see our LOD representative run a 14.050 on his trial run!

And to hang out with everyone, and yes, the Lincolns cleaned up on trophies. Of course, there were 20 of the little trophies and perhaps only 20 Fords. ;) But the truck won REAL plaques and two of them at that!
