It's that time again, the Hot Rod Power Tour.
Once again the '96 was the intrepid traveler. After the weekend at the Carlisle Ford Nationals, we were off to chase down the Power Tour.
Fueling up...
A quick stop in KY...
Oh my God! A stowaway!!!
After a night's rest somewhere along the BlueGrass Parkway in KY, it was time to hit the road again, but first, one crucial stop...
Another rest area...
Run for your lives!
Closer and closer...
Finally we arrived and the ritual begins...
Looking good on the showfield, I could hardly get away from the car with people commenting on it. Seems every other one had a Mark VIII or had one at some time in the past.
It was hot and sunny all day with the temperature officially reaching 96 degrees, I assure you it was much hotter on the pavement in the parking lot.
The grass was a lot cooler territory for the ez-up shelter to give some shade from the sweltering heat, and the Mrs. made good use of it...
There was an autocross setup at the venue that I stopped by and watched a while...
Seems I spied another Mark VIII.
After some more un-aldulterated car guy/gal activities we called it a day and went to the hotel, freshened up and went to grab some dinner at Joe's Crab House.
I'm tired already, and I've got the rest of the week to play. Tommorow it's supposed to be as hot in Indianapolis as it was in Nashville today. Stay tuned...
