LOD Apparel

Ok, is there any sort of organized place where we can get LOD stuff?

and if not, what would be entailed in making this happen?

I know I was looking at my old MARK VIII hat with the Lincolns of Distinction sub script, and thinking this is a really well made hat, and then I was thinking, man it's cold outside... I wish I had an LOD jacket or pullover or something warm...

Where do we have the calenders printed? Would that same place be able to produce clothes and hats?

Edit: according to the Merchandise tab on the home page, I see all the stuff we used to have... the addresses look like Alexander's? Can any of that stuff still be ordered?

customink.com has made our T-Shirts. Possibly our calenders also. JP would know.
I am trying to find time to get new shirts made.

For the past couple years or more the calendars were set up at Cafe Press (as well as some limited logo items). This does away with inventory and shipping hassles for basically the same retail price available elsewhere.

As far as apparel, I do not know what is still available as more than a couple items in the Merchandise tab on the home page were made to order from the supplier(s).

Other than that there is no real inventory remaining. If there is enough interest, we could strike a deal with a couple vendors our company works with but there would be minimum quantities, inventory and shipping involved. IMHO, it would be better to utilize Cafe Press - we could set up some available items there with minimal hassle.

I was thinking Cafe Press but I don't think they do embroidery, at least I couldn't find anything about it on their website...

JP, would the vendor(s) you work with be willing to do a limited run, and or, single order setup for us?

Who does the Carlisle and 'racing team' t-shirts?

Also, is there anyone who specifically had been the goto person on this, here or at our listed supplier? As per out home page, it seems this stuff used to be made by a company in Washington state...

Customink.com does the racing team tee-shirts.

I had the Carlisle tee-shirts made in a single order run as well as the goody bags and a few other things but they were all screen prints. Embroidery usually has higher minimum quantities and a higher set-up charge.

Our companies do have different apparel available with our embroidered logo but there was a significant fee involved and a somewhat limited selection through different suppliers. But any employee can order one or more of any available item. You can see some typical products here... http://www.shopthefinaltouch.com/products.php

I'm not sure what all would be involved or the overall cost but I'm sure it could be made available.

I do not know of any particular contact with the vendor for LOD apparel. Alexander handled all that. Have you tried to call them?

I hadn't called yet because I didn't want to step on anyone's toes, I figured I'd see what our situation was first.

If I take the lead on this, can I get all of those patterns?

There have to be at least a dozen places (which seems like a lot to me) on Cape Cod that do this kinda work, if nothing else I'm curious too see what kinda prices they quote me.

BTW, you have a PM... :D

Not that I know of...

there was talk of some shirts a while ago, but it never materialized into...

you know...

actual shirts... :D :D :D

materialized... I'm so funny... :D

Well...if you're awake...you've probably been drinking like me. I was working in the garage...started running into stuff...and figured I'd better stop or I'll be taking a nap on the cement floor and there will be more posts about how I should have worn safety glasses. :D

Here are some pics of my favorite jacket. Wendy ordered this for me way back in the day through LOD. She tried to order more stuff recently from the vendor, and the person said they were no longer doing it.

I believe Alex had gotten permission from Ford to use the Lincoln Mark VIII logo.

I get more complements on this jacket from the Ford/Mark VIII/Marauder guys asking where did I get it from. :)

I have an LOD jacket. Years ago I got people together for a group purchase with the company that did the embroidery. You needed to be a club member per the agreement with LOD had with FORD to use the logo. Alexander worked out most if not all the logistics.

I even got embroidery on the sleeve jacket, also my name and club logo was on the front breast part. Given that i uploaded this photo Nov 25, 2002 , i say we did the order just over 8 years ago. Time flies. I still have and wear the jacket.

In the last couple of years, I have gone "plain vanilla". No T-shirts or jackets with any logos or statements. The jacket pictured in this post, is really nice and one that I would not mind wearing most anywhere. I would in fact spring for one if they are available and came in black with white embroidery. (putting white on me is like ballet slippers on a Rhino)

I'll agree on the Jacket like Mike's. I could swear I've see some of us at Carlisle with those, although perhaps it was just that style logo, on other items. Regardless, both the jacket, and the logo look sharp. I'd go in on that too.

My only concerns with CafePress apparel is that we have limited control over the styles and quality of the items. A local promotions company would likely be a better bet for some items. I know I've seen that "Port Authority" brand on something else before. maybe my old polo shirt from when I worked for an ISP.. (done by a local shop)

Yep, had to be an LOD member to get these (I was part of that group order) and the quality is outstanding. I still have 2 jackets, one with my name, the other which was for the Kid but Hubby wears now. I use mine a LOT in spring and fall.

I don't trust the quality of Cafepress for items like this, although I still want coasters. I just hate the shipping charges from Cafepress, IIRC they are pretty high for small ticket items.

Can you believe that was 8 years ago

Unreal, so that means I'm 29 now right? I can't believe I've known some people here for that long (well, longer really). I remember you called me up and MADE me get in on that order, and told me what to get, mine had to be just like yours. I was never allowed to do anything without your approval. :D

Well, looking back 8 years now are you happy you got them :)

Yes, that is the original logo of some of the stuff that I have...

does anyone have that as a jpg or pdf file?

BTW Mike, your big ass trophy's are blocking the logo on your jacket... :p

Just because I think it's worth asking, how do we feel about possibly updated logos?

A friend of mine threw these together last night because she was sick at home and bored... :D Anyway, it's similar to the original...
