LOD Summer Bash

RE: LOD Summer Bash

OK, I made hotel reservations at the Amerisuites - good price, breakfast included, rooms look bigger, and frig will be nice to have. Plus, if the kid brings a friend with him, I won't have to get them an extra room. Besides, maybe now the every other minute e-mails I receive from Steve comparing the two hotels will stop.

The kid's planning on bringing his Mustang. He says he doesn't want to be driving drunk people around in an automatic. :)

RE: LOD Summer Bash

Ok, since I certainly hope I'm considered one of the unsavory people, I will obviously be at the Ameriasuites :7

I think everyone is confirmed except for Rene, and I have a few LODNE people on the fence, but I don't want to mention any names, as I would hate to unintentionally incriminate the innocent, should they decide they are unable to join us.

RE: LOD Summer Bash

Sharon, Steve’s constant ‘persuasion’ is just part of his charm isn’t it? :7

So I just want to clarify, the kid doesn’t want to drive drunk? Or doesn’t want to drive with drunk people in his car? Cause as we all know, driving with drunk people in your car can be a big pain in the #@$ ;)

RE: LOD Summer Bash

Oh no, he's used to driving drunk people around -- he's always the designated driver, he still doesn't drink. He's just gotten snobby now that he has a 5 speed. ::nono::

Steve, charming... hmmm, OK, if that's what we're going to call it now.

RE: LOD Summer Bash

Maybe we can have that snobby thing fixed at the mod session... }(

hmm... MK8 5 speed, Mustang 4 speed auto... :7

FOOD

FOOD

Ok I got some cash alloted towards this event. I will be taking all day friday off to buy some food and such. Who will be bringing a grill and what do we want to cook at the track?

I like hotdogs.
Please reply to this thread some ideas so we can get something that hte majority likes. Please change the subject when you reply to FOOD though so I do not get lost.

RE: FOOD

RE: FOOD

hotdogs, brats, hamburgers & cheeseburgers. Get some pop and some beer too, and some kind of side, macaroni salad or something.

RE: FOOD

RE: FOOD

I can bring few pounds of BBQ sausage and maybe some steaks for Saturday or Sunday, but I don't think I'll make it to the track on Friday.

Cooking at the track? WTH... you expect me to stop and eat?! :7

I don't think you're allowed to cook at the tracks I've been too. I thought we were doing the picnic thing at the mod session Saturday?

Regardless, I think the standard picnic venue is just fine. Even some cold deli meat & cheese, chips and dip and the usual fare. It's always a treat seeing the local food variety at a cookout. 'Brats'?... 'round here we have 'kielbassy' with our brewskis.

We were planning on bringing a cooler to help with cold drinks, ice and stuff. The wife is a real good 'shopper' with other people's money(haha) - she can help someone with any last minute shopping when we get there. I don't have a grill that will fit in the Mark VIII and I'm NOT bringing the F250! :D

RE: FOOD

RE: FOOD

We have a mini grill in the garage, but it's been in there for years so i have no clue if it works.

RE: FOOD

RE: FOOD

I have a small portable 15" Weber charcoal grill I can bring. I don't think it will be enough though.

RE: FOOD

RE: FOOD

We must have some little grills that I can bring if we bring the 2 cars. The ones Hubby uses for Chicago. I'll check with him.

JP, we can bbq at the one track up here, so that may be possible there, although I agree with the lunch time assessment before the track on Saturday.

I like the usual - nothing spicy. Don't forget condiments and sides. :)

EDIT: I really would rather not have to bring the grill(s) if there are going to be enough. I don't feel like having to lug them around and they do make a mess in my trunk.

RE: FOOD

Sax will have his ax with him, I will just chop down a tree, pour some gas on it, and start a fire for cooking. I was in the boy scouts for about a month before getting kick out for eating a brownie }(

RE: FOOD

I got a nice big Charbroil gas grill we can tote around in the truck. It is plenty big to cook for this army.

Getting Ready...

Getting Ready...

OK, everybody getting ready for the big weekend coming?

I spent the evening pulling the bumper off and lowering the compressor. This will make room for the new CAI I plan to install at the mod session between track sessions.

I've already replaced the fuel filter, done couple other minor tweaks and test fitted for the CAI. Tomorrow I'll put the bumper back on after I align the driving lights. I plan on installing a fresh set of plugs as well. No way I'll have the shift kit or O2 sensors in.

Anyone else doing anything in preparation for the meet?

RE: Getting Ready...

RE: Getting Ready...

We washed and waxed.

Too tired to get much else done, but I think I'd like to have Hubby or the kid change the oil before I go.

RE: Getting Ready...

RE: Getting Ready...

I got the black car registered. I am leaving for North carolina for buisnazz on monday-thurs. I will be back here thursday or so. I will pull the drag radials off of the green car and ahve them for people to use at the track.

My stupid aluminum jack died today. Red whore killed it. I need a new seal kit for the cylinder.

Friday morning I will most likely drive the red whore engine up to Fox lake, come back here, meet up with Ryan and Eli and go get some refreshment and leave for the track.
