RE: ROLL CALL

RE: ROLL CALL

im sure ill get booed for suggesting it, but i can also install new chrome in the doors and bumpers on 1st gens. its not too expensive(about 30.00 for the chrome), and if anyone has priced the pieces from lincoln they know how crazy high it is! i did the doors on my car and they look great, and 3 years and counting and still not a sign of fading or peeling!

RE: ROLL CALL

RE: ROLL CALL

Man sounds like this is going to be fun. To bad I livwe so far away. I won't be out in the mid-west until the week of x-mas. If any of you are interested in meeting up (i will not have either of my lincolns there) I 'll be in St. Louis for that week. Going to visit the in-laws, but I can make time to meet up. It's early to be talking about it, but that's when I'll be out there for sure.

Have fun at the meet and take lots of pics. Somebody leave a nice set of marks on the pavement for me.

Now why would you think we would leave marks on the pavement?

LOL! :7

RE: ROLL CALL

RE: ROLL CALL

Sharon, you know part of me is still amazed that we made it off that stupid little island with no fatalities... or that the “cops” weren’t “looking” for more then just “one” of us... (stupid boat people) xo

Of course, what could be more fun when you’re of diminished capacity then having multiple Joes and Daves... I’m all for confusion... :7

And Rene, don’t worry about not racing, the Saxmobile will be sitting pretty rather then trying to hurl itself down a race track. :D

RE: ROLL CALL

RE: ROLL CALL

Sharon tell hubby to come also. I think we can find time to terrorize at least one course.

RE: ROLL CALL

RE: ROLL CALL

So exactly what is the plan, on what days/dates?

I think i'm going to try to make it. I can probably bring my chip by modular depot and have it reburned on the way, too.

A synopsis of the meet looks like...

LOD Summer Bash
July 23rd through July 25th, 2004
Cincinatti, OH

Starts Friday the 23rd with drag racing at EdgeWater Sports Park - Friday Tune & Test Night - Gates open at 5:30 pm till 10:30 pm. You do not have to race to join the fun. Be there! http://www.edgewaterrace.com/

There has been chatter of partaking of some local night-life Friday night.

Hotel arrangements are being handled by Eli at the Holiday Inn of Florence, KY. Some attendees are interested in sharing a room to lower costs.

Holiday Inn

FLORENCE, KY 41042
UNITED STATES
Phone: 859-371-2700
Reservations: 800-465-4329

Saturday morning/afternoon will be an opportunity for a group mod session. Ryan is working to hook us up w/ Apten Performance in Cincy so we may use their lot. Wherever we end up, everyone is encouraged to attend even if just to watch!

Saturday's feature event is at Tri-State Dragway - Test and Tune session - Gate opens Saturdays at 4:30pm - Run 5:00pm to Dusk. http://www.tristatedragway.com/

For Sunday it has been suggested we join a local car show... http://www.tristatemustang.com/Events/Show2004.htm

Other ideas are still being bantered about at this time... an official Saturday night dinner or Sunday Brunch or BBQ, a group visit to one of several local attractions(go-cart track, parks, baseball, casinos, ...)

RE: ROLL CALL

RE: ROLL CALL

Excellent synopsis, JP.

So, what do you guys suggest the club support financially? When we've had the Chicago meet we tend to focus on food and drinks to make it easier for out of towners, but our big event also was just a bbq. It doesn't have to be that way for this meet, but I'd like to get an idea on whether or not I need to bring anything with me.

PS, Ryan, I'll tell him, but then again I don't know if I want his golf clubs hogging up my trunk space. :)

RE: ROLL CALL

RE: ROLL CALL

I'd suggest food/drinks for the Saturday 'mod session'. It could be like a picnic or cookout type setting. We could gather in the mid morning, work on the cars, eat, drink and be merry through the afternoon 'till time to head for the track. :)

We need to try and round up JiBit, Stra Dog, Brad, Bill Eynon III, and others.

Last I heard, Brad wanted to sell his Mark.

Sharon, let me know if you want me to bring any food. You know my gf can get that stuff we had at the Chicago meet at good prices.

RE: ROLL CALL

RE: ROLL CALL

Oh Jeremi, the food your girlfriend brought last year was AWESOME!

Well, if the locals have the grill equipment, I'm all for a BBQ. If there's a Costco down there, I have a card and can take someone shopping for additional supplies when I get there.

RE: ROLL CALL

RE: ROLL CALL

Yes we have a Costco, we also have Sam's. I got the card to Sam's if any needs in there. I love the grill idea.

RE: ROLL CALL

RE: ROLL CALL

Costco and Sam's Club... how very cosmopolitan... :7

RE: ROLL CALL

Eli has reservations made at the Holiday Inn, I believe the rate is $55 per nite. We should get a group rate if we get over 10 rooms.

RE: LOD Summer Bash

Who wants to get together at 7:30 AM to watch the Formula 1 race in Germany on Sunday the 25th and see Michael take another win?

That no-tell-motell may be adequate for 1st gens, but us 2nd gen people will be staying down the road at the:
Amerisuites Cincinnati Airport
300 Meijer Drive
Florence KY 41042
http://www.amerisuites.com/hotels/listhotel.php?code=AJFR

http://www.hotels.com/hotels/CIN_ASAP-exter-1.jpg

The suites have Mini-kitchen with refrigerator and microwave, and they have a Complimentary Breakfast .

If you book it on hotels.com for 2 nights the rate is $54.90/night for one or two people in the suite, it is like $9 more for addtional people. You wont get this rate directly from the hotel. This rate does not depend on the amount of rooms we book. If we can get enough people wanting to stay there they said we may be able to even get a better rate. Or maybe Sharon can get us an AARP discount :+

If you are interested in staying there please post here.

RE: ROLL CALL

RE: ROLL CALL

Steve you suck! We've decided elsewhere that I'm only 28! :B

I'd like everyone to stay together, it's easier that way IMO. It seems like the Amerisuites is a good deal, and with refrigerators in the rooms, that would be easier than keeping coolers...

I'll go with whatever everyone else wants to do, though.

Steve, we won't mind if the 2nd Gens stay at a more discounted upscale establishment(complete with Mini-kitchen with refrigerator and microwave, and they have a Complimentary Breakfast) while we stay at the more antiquidated Holiday Inn, I'll add you to the list! :D

Seriously, we're glad to have ya but I'll defer the lodging of choice to Eli since he had it going.
