Not Blowing Much

After further eval it may also be a problem with the control module. Ther eis no response when any of the buttons (for max air, vent, etc) are pushed.

Well then it's settled, you're just going to have to take both cars to Carlisle... :D

I got a spare.....I bought it from Jamie a while back when I thought I had a prob with mine. Found the prob and it wasn't the control.

Do a search, I believe there is a diagnostic procedure to test the module by hitting a sequence of buttons.

further air flow analysis. I think the controle moduleis working.

max AC selected: air flow only comes out the panel vents, just not strong enough.
vent selected: same as max AC.
panel/floor selected: air flow from panel vents and floor vents only. not strong enough.
floor selected: air flow from floor only. not strong enough.
floor/def selected: air flow from def and floor only. nt strong enough.
defroster selected: defroster only.

manual is indicating a vacum leak somewhere.

Check hoses near or ON a manifold.....As connections look good, prob one has a hole in it! Or the prob is under dash.

I no longer think there is a vacum leak. Ran through all the diagnostic tests an no leaks. The AC vacum resevior does not leak. None of the vacum control motors leak. I also verfied all the dampers are opening and closing properly. MAybe the blower motor is not generating enough air flow?

something to do with the blower. It is barely pulling in any air at the external intake or when at the max-air intake compared to the othe rmark. gonna pull it!

well, I swapped blowers and the problem stays with her car. I also checked the voltage going to the fans in both cars. each are between 13-13.5v. You can clearly tell the system is not pulling in enough air from both the eternal or internal intakes. This is odd.

Iknow the maxAC door is fully operating becaus eit is completly observable. The The other 2 doors are mostly observable. The main thin is I can see vacume motors are fully operating. I am thinking I nee dot take the dash out to look at everything.

i am guesing the blockage is after the motor in the plenum. the same effect occurs when on max AC which pulls air from inside directly into the blower. I also was able to reach into the plenum area a little and found nothing.

After reading up a little more, the blower sends air into the AC Evaperator Core Housing which also contains the blendoor and heater core. I am thinking something in here must be restricting air flow. Removing this to inspect it requires draining the coolant, draining refrigerant, romoving the instrument panel, etc , etc. I am going to discontinue this effort untill after carlisle. Don't want to risk tearing it apart and not being able to get it back together in time

Before draining the cores i would take the dash apart to see what you can see and get at.
