10 views and not a single reply, gee you guys are no good for emotional support :)

Still looking for him...............

RE: Quick, someone make me feel better.........

This is very typical behavior, especially in an adolescent cat. Don't worry too much, I've had cats go off on "adventures" for days on end. One cat was actually wild in the woods for 17 months! Came home one day and never left again.

Recently my neighbor's cat vanished for a week, one day she just showed up at the back door like nothing had happened, just sauntered in, plopped down and took a nap.

Once he comes back I'd recommend having him fixed if it hasn't already been done. Males tend to roam.

Keep us posted!

RE: Quick, someone make me feel better.........

Thanks Leo, were planning on having him "fixed" soon. Thing Is I have trouble sleeping if hes not in the same room, and I cant help but worry too much.

RE: Quick, someone make me feel better.........

Well if he means so much to you, don't let him out. Duh. Our 2 cats never go out.

Thats the problem, we have a very active house, my mom runs a day care, and the doors are always open, I try to keep him inside, but he always gets out, its impossible to keep him inside in this environment. I keep him inside at night by locking him in my room but thats about all I can do.

Do spayed\neutured cats tend to go out less?.

RE: Quick, someone make me feel better.........

In February of this year our cat took off when it was about 40 degrees outside. I think he thought it was spring. That night the temp dropped into the teens and it snowed. We knew he hated walking on snow so he was trapped wherever he was. We lost hope after 3 weeks of bitter Wisconsin cold and snow. We even went to the humane society and got another cat. Foxes were being pretty active in the area so we figured he had met his match.

Low and behold, 2 days later he is at the door. Half his weight, wet and dirty. We could only imagine where he had been. The two cats are like boys and play pretty rough with each other.

A tragedy that had a happy ending. Don't be surprised if your cat disappears for a couple days and then suddenly shows up. They are usually hanging out by some other cats place and come home when they get real tired and hungry.

RE: Quick, someone make me feel better.........

Well I just did a quick look again, put his food outside and sprinkled his used litter on the yard (per request of my vet).

Are there ways to make cats not want to go outside anymore?.

RE: Quick, someone make me feel better.........

He'll be back, Probally out taking care of business. cats are like homing pigions.

Hopefully he will be back, I love that cat sooooooo much, more than ive loved anything before.

RE: Quick, someone make me feel better.........

He still isnt home yet, will wait till about noon then i'll be off to look around the neighborhood.

Well, there are few times a man wants to cry, and I feel like crying.

wahhhh, I want my kitty back, now, wahhhhh *SHEDS TEARs*

RE: Quick, someone make me feel better.........

I know how you feel - I've always had a cat myself. One thing to check is the local animal shelter. If he's young and friendly, someone may have taken him in, thinking he's lost. Also, print up some of those pics you have and put up some posters locally.

RE: Quick, someone make me feel better.........

When he comes home get him a collar and a tag so if he roams again and someone sees him they will call. Be sure the collar is the kind with the elastic built in so if it snags on a bush he can pull out of it.

By the way, yes, neutered cats and dogs still wander but not as much, they tend to more home bodies.

RE: Quick, someone make me feel better.........

I really cannot add anything to the fine points others have suggested. Just wanna add my 'voice' to say I hope your kitty comes back home today !

RE: Quick, someone make me feel better.........

IS THE CAT FOUND YET.

My cat once escaped from our vets office and after searching for hours we couldn't find him.

We lived over 4 miles away on the opposite side of a Mall, 2 major streets, and an entire neighborhood.

Wouldn't you know it that 4 days later my cat shows up like nothing ever happened. :) I was soooooooooooooooooooo happy. He didn't wanna be touched though. :( He got the kanilien for that one.. (don't ask)

Ohh.. the moral of the story is don't worry unless at least 5 days have passed. ;) He knows his way home so if he can get home he'll eventually find his way.

RE: Quick, someone make me feel better.........

I once had a cat who was 15 years old and took off for 2 weeks before coming back.
I thought for sure it wouldn't,but it did.
Give it some time and try not to worry about it,chances are it will come home.

Yo! Little dohc: How ya doing?

"CATS, The Other White Meat!"

Have you checked out the roadkills in your Hood?

Hmmm: Are there any little thirld people around

your close area? These folks love Cat meat.

Probably not, but if so you can always be comforted

by the fact that your kitty fed a hungry family, and

not junk food. Cats have very little fat.

Around here a cat outside at night, probably has a life

expectancy of worm on a hook in a fish tank.

There coyotes, wolves, bears, fox, and many others on the

search for food.

How old are you Son? Seems to me you should go out and

research the girls?

Best of Luck: Jack
