The cat I had growing up used to go outside for weeks at a time during the summer. On time she was gone for about 2 months and we gave up on her (I lived in a semi rural area with plenty of foxes and coyotes) and got another cat. Sure enough a couple of days later she came back home.
My old cat goes missing for a couple of days at a time fairly regularly. Once he was missing for 5 or 6 days, and I was worried. I finlly found him locked in my shop. He went in when I put the truck away and was locked in when I closed the door. I felt bad for him, but he was fine.
YO: Little dohc: I notice that you dont have the little green person at your posts.
What are your goals?
Do you have a part-time job?
You mentioned that your Mother runs a daycare center. Are you helping?
What grade are you in this year? Hey: Im glad your Cat came home. Best, Jack
Glad to hear he's back. I once had a cat that was gone for 2 and a half weeks, I thought he was long gone. He came back in a similiar situation as yours, with a bad paw....cut up bad. I'm a dog person now.
Yo! Little: It looks like your options are now down to
either put him down, or toast his leg. Front or back?
Ive had quite a few threelegged dogs(farm& ranch equipment)
and they seem to do well. I would think a three legged cat
would be fine, especially since its an indoor cat.
Help the little dude out, he is definitely worth that much. You'd repair your car if you had to. I don't know how bad the injury is, but a friend of mine accidentally stepped on his cat's paw and broke its foot and he had to wear a cast for a while but was OK. I'm glad you found your little guy, I have a kitty and I would be stressin' out too.
we had a cat that spent too much time under hood of a car...owner started car and oops!! Long story, great end. Had to have right front leg removed. After 2 months, it was like he was SUPPOSED to have 3 legs!
Have the leg removed at the uppermost joint towards body. You will never regret it.
Our cat also had broken jaw and a number of scrapes and cuts from the fan blades and he spent two weeks recovering at vets office. He lived to a ripe old age of 15 or 16.
Let us know how it all goes. It's like a soap opera now!
It ain't a horse, it can live without a leg. So obviously, don't kill it. Not that i like cats or anything, but killing it at this point would be cruel, IMO.
So you're down to fixing it or removing it. It's your call. If it were my pet, i'd shell out the cash and deal with the debt. But an animal can live a full life with 3 legs, some even with 2.
My 15 year old Moany had compacted bowels (yuk) about a year and a half ago and before it was all resolved, I had spent $600 on Moany in one weekend. My wife and I gave it some thought whether or not we should spend so much on him but being selfish people and knowing what enjoyment he would still be giving us, we paid for the operation.
Best $600 I ever spent. Since then I've had so much enjoyment from his company, it's impossible to put a price tag on it.
