Was there a little air under that tire ?
Can't tell on my phone
Great run wish I could have made it out there
I wish you could have too. It wasn't looking good at first until we hooked that meth back up. My surgeon thinks that it should have ran faster even before we activated the meth but it wasn't. It was in that 11.4-11.5 range. I will have to consult with my tuner again and see what he thinks. I thought that the very advanced timing would cause the IATs to spike but my surgeon told me that timing advance won't affect IAT. Perhaps it was 140 degrees on the dyno doing a pull in 3rd but making a full balls out pass they went even higher and I had significant timing retard? I really don't know but once the meth got hooked up ET dropped like a rock. Interestingly enough, the mph was slightly up and the 60s were monster before we hooked the meth back up but the ET just still wasn't there. First pass with meth hooked up I blew the tires off with a 1.82 60' and still ran an 11.3. That's when I knew we were onto something. Next pass hooking it did 11.12. Then we dialed back fuel pressure on the regulator and next passes were 11.01 and 11.06. That's when we went to the car and pulled out both floormats, a mini fire extinguisher, and a small box of clutter and BAM. 10.98. LOL

Many people have been mentioning the right front driver's tire. The video quality is lacking but a friend freeze-framed it and it does appear it got up a couple inches very quickly and set down. Hard to say.

Congrats on the new time Kirk. I have been laid up after my motorcycle accident. Last 2 months no walking. Just started walking( really hobbling) 14 days ago with no crutches. As I was flying thru the air I was thinking, no racing this year most likely. Kirk might have a shot! LOL

Oh damn. No wonder you've been quiet. I thought maybe you had "dug it out of the weeds" again. That sucks.

So close!

I know you had to be 4k lbs for the shoot out but I'm wondering what a little more weight reduction will do for your times.

I had 30 lbs to spare and had 5 gallons of fuel ready for ballast.

The internet says 100 lbs equals one tenth of a second. :p

Strictly pushing buttons or did you guys re degree cams? Car ran significantly better. Difference in DA between this and previous outings?
Just "pushing buttons".

I think I may have misunderstood you. With your questions, I thought you were inquiring on the differences for that particular track day. But now I see you're inquiring over previous track outings. But in essence, the resultant answer is essentially the same with some contributing factors.

The sixty foot times are the most important improvement to the ET. The tune was the biggest factor with the improvements but there were some contributing factors such as weight reduction and density altitude. The car is lighter than before and the DA was certainly less than earlier in the year and somewhat less than last year.

This previous late summer, we were averaging 12.771 @ 108.68 mph in 2000'+ DA at 4200 lbs. Corrected ET was calculated to have been 12.411 @ 111.44 mph.

Now if you go back to the same time last year at the same event; we were heavier and the DA was 500'-1000' (slightly worse than this year). Last year we averaged 12.861 @ 105.85 with our sixty foot times a solid tenth slower. Corrected ET was 12.746 @ 106.76 mph.

This outing was 100-150 lbs lighter at less than 500' DA, averaging 12.358 @ 110.54 mph.

Most of what we have been working on contributes directly to the sixty foot time which is reflected quite significantly in the overall ET. We still have some tweaks to do but we are getting close to optimizing the sixty foot capability. A looser converter, lighter brakes and wheels along with some further tuning should give the car a chance for some 11 second ET's in good air.
