    how do i tighten the alternator belt?

    i had to replace my water pump on my 78 lincoln mark 5. it was going good until i had to remove a bracket holding the alternator a little. i put the bracket back the way it was but now the belt is all loose! it was not like that before. so how do i tighten it?

    ok i'm replacing it and have a question. i have the two gaskets and sealant. where so i put the sealant? just in between the two gaskets? or do i also put in sealant on the water pump to gasket and gasket to engine block? or all of the above? or do i even need sealant? thanks car is a 78 lincoln...

    mark 5 coolant leak. need some help troubleshooting

    my 78 mark 5 has a coolant leak. under the front of the engine block. all of the hoses are fine. but when i put coolant in it just starts leaking. and is all empty in like 5 days. could it be the freeze plug or head gasket? any help would be great! thanks.

    so i was driving my mark 5 when i was nearing going down hill. when the BATTERY died on my car and it shifted in to neutral by itself. and my car started rolling down hill. (not a vary steep) and i put it in to park when rolling down hill, it stopped, and then i started it and made it a few more...

    alternator issue?

    so here is the issue. when i try to start my 78 mark v it makes a clicking noise lights and radio work, but the alt lite flashes. when i jump the battery the car starts right up. so is it the alternator? it seems odd because the alternator is new (according to the guy who sold it) it looks new...
