    Blurry rear window

Thanks all for your replies. I tried cleaning the window with Dawn and Mr. Clean's eraser, but it's not significantly better. It appears that there are tiny ripples in the substrate for the defogger/antenna. I don't see any edges of the film to pick at to peel it off. I'll stop by a window shop...

    Blurry rear window

The view out of my rear window is quite blurry. There's no tint on the window, but there is a plastic film containing the radio antenna and rear window defogger on the inside, and it appears that this film is the cause. Is this a stock arrangement? Has anyone else encountered this issue and, if...

New front shocks, but still loses air

Is there a way to remove the driver's side upper control arm without taking out the brake master cylinder? The nut on the rear bushing seems to reside directly under the master cylinder and I've not been able to get a tool on it that can loosen it.

New front shocks, but still loses air

Thanks for the suggestions! I was unsuccessful in finding the leaks with leak detector fluid, so I followed your advice about the bathtub (try explaining to your wife why you're giving your shock absorbers a bath ;-) ) I found that I was getting bubbles out of the RHS solenoid about every 2-3...

A great deal on front air shocks

Thanks for the suggestion, beerdog. I filled them yesterday, snooped around the solenoids with soapy water but saw no leaks, then shut the system off with the trunk switch. I'm still losing air, so I'm wondering if the solenoid is leaking back down the air line. I'll pull off the air line next...

New front shocks, but still loses air

Thanks for the info, Chris. The shocks were new Westar units and they came with new solenoids, hence I was wondering if any other part of the system might be the problem. I'll take a little leak detector fluid out and see if I can spot any leakage out of the solenoids or their O-rings.

A great deal on front air shocks

I purchased a pair of the Westar shocks from Protier Industries for $330 on eBay back in December. They appear to be exactly like the AutoZone units pictured in this thread. After installing them on my 97, my front end still loses air. Not sure yet if it's the new shocks or some other issue -...

New front shocks, but still loses air

I replaced the front shocks on my 97, but find the car still goes to low-rider mode (front only) within 24 hours. Wondering if the air lines might be the problem. Does the air distribution system remain pressurized when the compressor is not running?

    New from Seattle

Used the holiday break to resolve some issues and do some of the mods described in the forums. New front air shocks - check Cobra front brakes - check Hub swap - check Swap old, corroded chrome rims for 18" Bullitt rims and tires - check California rake - resolved (just let it run long enough...

    New from Seattle

Hi again - I'd love to upload a couple of "before" pix, but am having trouble in Chrome and also in the MS Edge browser. Any hints on how to get a photo to upload? I see the "Insert Image" icon in the post form. When I select it, I can select images but get no "OK" button to complete the upload...

    New from Seattle

Hi all - Just bought a black 98 MK VIII with 103K from an older gentleman. The body is good, but there are a few mechanical issues I'm working out. I'm really appreciating all the great tech posts on the forums. Thanks to all who have contributed their hard-earned knowledge. Love that motor!
