    99 Continental Air Ride Problem

This is the air spring bag set I purchased and installed, mainly because it includes the much needed solenoid O-rings. Took about a half hour to install both and ride is perfect again. No sagging in the rear and no warning lights! Thanks for your help!

    Power Steering Questions

Following up....I replaced the power steering pump and YES, you can remove the power steering pump by removing the radiator and unbolting the A/C compressor. No need to open the A/C system. I did have to replace the high pressure line (2 piece - I only needed the steel line that attached to...

    99 Continental Air Ride Problem

I looked when I was under there with the soapy water. The shocks are separate from the air ride and the air ride shocks and their fittings look identical. I will post a follow up once they are installed. Thanks.

    99 Continental Air Ride Problem

Noticed about 15% of the time the air ride shocks stayed inflated while parked. Also observed when they went down, the right side was a bit lower than the left. Crawled under it with my bottle of soapy water yesterday and found the right side was leaking. Do I need to buy anything other than...

    99 Continental Air Ride Problem

Thanks. I will check it this weekend. Is it common for air ride problems to follow repairs where the vehicle is jacked off the ground? Forgot to mention above, the car has around 130,000 miles.

    99 Continental Air Ride Problem

Having an air ride problem and need some expert advice. I replaced my power steering pump a couple of weeks ago and had to jack up the front end because it can only be changed from underneath without pulling the motor. I turned off the air ride trunk switch before jacking the car. I noticed...

    Power Steering Questions

What about the leak (tea cup saucer size occasionally)? Should I put a bottle of monkey piss in there to stop the leak when I change the fluid? Thanks.

    Power Steering Questions

The power steering pump on my 1999 Continental (135,000 miles) is making noise and leaking fluid. It is tight to see anything, but it does not appear to be leaking from any of the hoses. The shop manual requests that the AC compressor be removed from the bottom to get the power steering pump...

    Lift Up The Motor Part

I replaced my screaming chicken (tensioner/pulley) last spring on my '99. The tensioner bolt barely cleared and I was able to get it done without lifting the engine. I did have to purchase a set of very low profile Torx wrenches for the tensioner bolt. Took about 4 hours and my hands looked...

99' Continental - Passenger floorboards wet!

Still not leaking. The cleaning/blowing out must have done the trick!

99' Continental - Passenger floorboards wet!

I removed the top part of the cowling and checked the screws. Not a speck of rust on any of them. The lower cowling was on firm as well. Hopefully, I cleared an obstruction while blowing out the cowling and sun roof drains and that is why I could not replicate the leak.

99' Continental - Passenger floorboards wet!

I took the air hose to the front drains in the sun roof. I couldn't get to the back drains, but water ran out behind all 4 tires when I poured water in the pan and it did not stand. I also blew out the area around the cowling after I removed it and made sure it was put back correctly. I...

99' Continental - Passenger floorboards wet!

As I was giving my baby her Spring cleaning yesterday, I noticed most of the front passenger floorboard from rear to front and the very rear of the back passenger floorboard were wet. There was no oder to the liquid I vacummed up. The only thing I can find different from the driver & passenger...

    Under the hood squeek '99

I FINALLY got around to fixing it (forgot about it over the summer because it did not squeek). The squeek was coming from the idler pulley on the drive belt tensioner. There was so much excess room to work between the tensioner and the frame (joke for those of you who haven't been there), I...

    Under the hood squeek '99

I have a 1999 Continental. On a cold start (especially during the winter) there is a variable squeeking noise coming from under the hood until the engine warms up. I am sure it is a serpentine belt pulley, but any other ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Lawdog1

    Transmission / Warranty Questions

The GMAC appraiser contacted me today. He said all he needed was for me to reproduce the fault, take it to a transmission shop, have the shop call him and show him the transmission code on thier scanner. He said he would authorise repairs at that time. I drove the car 160 miles today and had...

    Transmission / Warranty Questions

I purchased a 99' Continental about one month ago with 61K on it. I purchased it from a GM dealership and was given a GMAC limited warranty of 3 months/3,000 miles on the powertrain. The second week I had the car, I was traveling on the highway (70-75mph) and was about 40 miles out when the HUD...

Need 99 Continental wiring diagram - cell 125

Thanks guys! Sorry for the confusion, Magna Donnelly manufactured the mirror. The Ford/Lincoln part # is XF3Z5403100AA. From looking at the wiring diagram/pinout, I should be able to re-wire the 7 pin mirror and keep all of the functions except the one that dims the outside drivers mirror in...
