I'll take it out f the car. I think it's pretty well perfect, all I ever did was fondle the thing, it feels nice. I think I paid $110, but I'm not sure, it was close to that..

I'll look at it when it's out and come up with a price.

I started taking the dash apart. I'm going to replace it with my spare gray dash for now, from my first Mark VIII, a red 94.

I think it will look ok, my green hardtop has a gray dash with black interior too. The convertible will have black doorpads, and steering wheel as well.

Here's some before photos.:D

I'm not sure what Jeremi is driving this year. He knows he's always welcome to drive one of my Lincolns.:D

I got the mocha dash out. I forgot how much fun this job was.:D

Then I had to get it out of the car while the car is still in the garage.:)

Here's a photo of the mocha dash, the replacement grey dash, and the hole it goes into. I'm going to clean up that bracket and parking brake.

Spray that dash black Bill, it's too easy. Good SEM prep, and a can of SEM interior color will do wonders here.

Oh, and I'll be pulling a M8 dash this week to stuff a third pedal. Come and help. :rolleyes-green:

Bill, Glad to see you finally found a convertible! I assume that was the one on an auction site? I talked with the guy and thought about you. You will make it great I am sure.

I second the paint, Bill. I did mine quick in dirty because of time but it's still holding up great.

There is a spot rubbing through where my right knee lands but I'm happy for now.

Hi Darrell, glad to hear from you:wave:

Welcome to the Lincolns of Distinction!

Thanks, I was going to give you a call, I saw you were interested in that car too.:)

I hope to have it ready for the downriver cruise at the end of June if you can make it.

Downriver in June sounds great!

My Mark VIII Convertible will be in Florida, has been since 2007, so I will likely bring the XKE Jaguar.

Do you still have the MG?

That is a beautiful convertible, and those are some great photos of it Darrell.

Yes, I still have the MG, it's running great.:)

I'm looking forward to seeing the Jaguar, that's always been my favorite British car.

I got to spend some time on it today. I removed the door pads.

They don't look bad in the photos, but they are rough. That wood stuff is curling off and rotted. The vinyl is in rough shape too.

I'll be installing the black door pads from my 1st black Mark VIII that I parted out.:)
