2013 Annual MI LOD Meet

It's this time again. The summer MI meet is in the works. As usual, there will be some racing, some entertainment, and a car show. Let's make this even better than prior years !
Since so many people missed Carlisle this year, it will be like a second chance for a great event which proved to be of national scale in the past.

Proposed dates are August 9th-11th, 2013.

Friday, August 9th. My local Motown Muscle club is having a private track rental at Milan Dragway on Friday the 9th, running from 6:30PM-10:30PM.
Awesome night of racing, with usually 15-20 cars max, cost will be under $100 and prepay will be required. Spectators welcome.
You cannot beat a private rental, no long lines to deal with, no junk cars breaking down (unless you count Martin breaking an axle :tongue-pink:).

Saturday, August 10th. All day hangout at my place, or Bill's place (details still to be worked out). Typical LOD style party !!! :roll_over:

Sunday, August 11th. The biggest SE MI Mustang club is having a Mustang Memories All-Ford Car Show and Swap Meet at Ford HQ.
The President of the club, who was also at Carlisle Banquet, invited us to bring some Lincolns. Let's do it ! :laugh:

As one of the folks who missed Carlisle, I'm in 100%. My calendar has been updated accordingly. :D

I'm trying to sneak that Friday and Saturday off work. Unfortunately my work's busy season is starting a couple weeks earlier than usual, and right now one of my co-workers with higher senority has both days requested off.

What is the latest date for having $ turned in for the Milan festivities?

Milan sounds like a good time for everyone, but potentially pricey.

I'm in for that, though. The last track rental I went to there was $65 a person, so this shouldn't be terrible.

J, I'm the one that keeps bugging you through email. Maybe this could provide a "shakedown" and then see how the car reacts to the mods.

Yeah, last one was $65, but I think it depends greatly on the amount of people attending. I should have specific info in that regard very soon.

Good idea on the base line. Hell, I might be running some stock cars too ;)

Sounds great! Jeremi's ants are better than Bill's tarantulas. I promise to provide plenty of entertainment.

This will be great!

I might want to bring my green Mark to the track for a stock baseline too, or for racing other stock Mark VIII's.

The 97 will be there for sure, I have to give Martin a chance to beat me now.:laugh:

I'll be sure to bring some of my best spiders with me too.:har:

Bummer I will not be able to attend. I will be in Seattle drinking Starbucks, hugging trees, swimming with killer whales, and climbing Mt Rainier with Wendy, Matt, and Jordan.

Sounds like we're in. So sorry you won't get to be there Mike S. :( Hoping others that I didn't get to see at Carlisle will be there, although I still want a trip to the east coast at some point, depending.

Mike Tixer, if you want to split that trip up, come on over here a day early.

Thanks for the offer, Sharon. I will consider it, although I'm more likely to go via the Badger or U.P.. Chicago still hates me..

FYI, the Kid has mentioned that he *might* attend, leaving his finacee here to petsit. Not sure if he'll bring his Mustang or not, but he would definitely bring the camera for some quality shots.

Crap, Jeremi, have you invited Strapp? He contacted me via the message board not long ago, he doesn't come here to read the messages anymore, but misses us, well, me I guess, hahaha. :p

Everybody who reads this is invited. I haven't talked to strapp since 2003 or something. If you got his number, let him know. Detroit is always happy to see Mr Steve :laugh:
