Ok, I worked out a deal with MM for the track rental. It will be $90 for 4 hours of racing. Expecting 25-30 cars. Some mustangs, f-bodies, hopefully bunch of V Cadillacs, and of course Lincolns.

Me neither, and I guarantee I'd come up behind you. My car is a dog. As for helmets, I don't think there is one made that will fit my gigantic melon.

Just remember, if you're looking at the green light thinking that you should probably hit the gas... you should have hit the gas about a second ago... :p

Just made reservations at Fairfield, accidentally through expedia, but whatever, I talked to the woman at Fairfield. We arrive theoretically on the 8th and leave Sunday or Monday (option left open due to my oxygen needs and general freakyness). Kid HIGHLY interested in attending, including racing and taking some kick ass pics and using some humungo printer. I guess the three of us will chat later about who's doing what, as the kid cannot afford the trip without our help. Pressure Beerdog into helping a poor 28 year old. He'd bring the Mustang and his helmet and I KNOW he wants to race it cause he was trying to get me to organize a Chi meet so we could go to the track here. I don't think he's even baselined the car yet.

Finally remembered to call my honey Strapp. :) He was busy but will call back. Sorry I suck at this stuff lately. Had panic attack while making hotel reservations hahaha.

Oh holy crap, I don't even know what car we're bringing. It would be a Lincoln though....

I was gonna come along with Gary, but I have a rather large bid due that Monday the 12th and have to work around the boss' vacation/golfing time. Timing doesn't work for me. I'd love to bring another one of your builds out there, if this an annual event?; then I'm in for next year.....FWIW.
I could use a road trip so if I can make it last minute ill bring a tent and sleep anywhere.

We let Gary's project to scope creep into another car :err-what?:, so it will be a while before it's done.
Both you and him are welcome here on the 9th though, I am sure we can make some sleeping arrangements. ;)

My car is nowhere near ready to go like I thought it was before I bought it. Live and learn...

Yes, at least come and hang out Friday night. There will be plenty of people not racing. Plus, it is a 4hr track rental so there will very little waiting. Most of our time will be spent hanging out.

Don't forget, the Kid wants to race his Stang, but also get some really good racing shots of people. He got new printer and software and will be bringing it to be able to print pics on the spot if all goes well. Variety of sizes, variety of prices, haven't asked him what the LOD discount will be ;) And I'm fairly sure after a few months of hounding him, he'd actually upload the pics somewhere for us all to look at.
