So, do we want to meet in Michigan durring the Woodward Dream Cruise weekend? Lets get a plan tentatively set if we do. I know there was another thread but I can't find it.

EDIT (Updated Information by Mad1stGen):

2014 Annual MI LOD Meet

It's this time again. The summer MI meet is in the works. As usual, there will be some cruising, some entertainment, and a car show. Let's make this even better than prior years !
Since so many people missed Carlisle this year (and last year), it will be like a second chance for a great event which proved to be of national scale in the past.

Proposed dates are August 15th-17th, 2014.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Friday, August 15th. Those who get into town early, you're welcome to hang out at my house. We'll make plans as we go. This is the pre-day of the Woodward Dream Cruise.
Great day to do some actual cruising down Woodward, although this is not the official day of the cruise. Late night activities usually involve some spectating in the far north part of
Woodward, where things get to be a "little more fun" ;) Afterwards, we'll most likely meet at one of the local pubs/restaurants to relax.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Saturday, August 16th. This is still to be worked out, but this is the Woodward Dream Cruise official day. I suggest getting there early in the day if you want to have fun. Things get really crowdy in the afternoon.
Not into the cruise ? Check out the Midwest Drift Competition downtown Detroit aka Streets of Detroit. It's an awesome event that takes place in one of the city parks, right in front of the old train station.
http://mdudrift.com/schedule/ Very urban experience. Please no ricer comments. This is a true performance event, and great show of skill. Did I mention that there is plenty of
domestic cars in this competition as well ?

At some point in the day, (most likely mid afternoon 3-4PM) we'll gather at my place in Farmington Hills, for a typical LOD style party. Great people, awesome cars, tasty food, and party till late hours.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sunday, August 17th. The biggest SE MI Mustang club is having a Mustang Memories All-Ford Car Show and Swap Meet at Ford PDC
The President of the club, who was also at Carlisle Banquet, invited us to bring some Lincolns. Let's do it !

Any ideas, any suggestions, all welcome. No excuses though.

Do we want to ? What kind of question is that ???? I have to type up a schedule, but it looks to be a very fun and busy weekend !

And I like to think of it as WW dream cruise during the LOD weekend :tongue-pink:

JP, you need to come up with a better excuse. :mad-tilt:

A drifting event must be cool since you spelled it with a K. Actually, That would be kewl to check out. Not for the whole day though.

On a serious side I am in on this. I took a few days off around the weekend. Have to get some 2-way radios and convince Trixie to go.

I know drift thing is not for everybody and no its not a whole day event. There are tons of bars in that area within walking distance if someone gets bored or thirsty. I highly recommend the woodward dream cruise on a friday afternoon/night. Saturday is a parking lot not a cruise. See all there

This will be a great meet.

It sounds like Friday Aug 15, Saturday, and Sunday. :)

I'm guessing some people will want to check out the cruise Friday and some will want to check it out Saturday?

I probably won't be making it to the cruise, but I'll make it Friday after work and Saturday if anything else is going on, and the Mustang show on Sunday.

It looks like we need to pre register for the show?

I actually used to work there for a while when I still had my red Mark VIII. It's at the Ford Product Development Center, I parked my car in the lot the where the show is at. I took this photo when someone parked next to me. :D

I will only be coming to 1 day. Witch date will most of the Mark VIII community be attending. Are people planning on putting their cars in the MM car show? It's $50 to register for that show. My car is not a show car, its my DD that I take good care of. If everyone else is putting their car in, I will too, but I don't want to drop $50 and be one of 3 people that show up. :)

Ok, here's the proposed schedule for the August weekend. Can one of the moderators move this up to the top, and change the title of this thread to 2014 Annual MI LOD meet ?

Thanks for arranging this, Jeremi. I'm In. :D

Also, I got the thread renamed, but cannot figure out how to re-order posts within a thread. I'll keep on it, unless someone else beats me to it.

I'm in for the drift competition for sure. It sounds like more fun than a "crowdy" cruise, that we'll be seeing the previous day anyway.

Thanks! Looking forward to another great get-together in MI. :cool-blue:

(First post edited with updated information.)

I'm not sure of my exact itinerary yet but I will register for the Mustang Memories All-Ford Car Show anyways.

Also posted the event on our Facebook calendar. ;)
