96 Mark VIII ... front end conversion.

I assume you'd need to use the '97 hood, and front quarters, as well.. but it's just a guess. I don't see things lining up well without it.

I know we have one member here who effectively has that configuration, but acquired it in a very different way. He bought a (used) '97 that when brand new, was hit hard in the rear. Whoever fixed it spliced on a 1st gen rear end, 'cause that's all they could find. :)

That member is me, I have the 97 with the 94 tail. You remembered correctly, Tixer! :)

Now, to answer the question; You will need everything forward of the windshield to make the swap. Radiator core support, framerails for the bumper, fenders, hood, steel bumper, bumper cover, headlights, grill............. everything. You'll have to remove the Gen1 core support and weld on the Gen2 support for everything to bolt to properly.

Thanks for the reply, Markup. Try as I might that day, I couldn't recall your username. I'm glad you chimed in!

Hope the car is continuing to treat you well these days.

Car is going back together.....bent the front end up a little over a year ago. Since it was down, decided to 'upgrade' some aspects of the car. I'll have to update the Members rides thread I have going to reflect the mods! :)
