My Question is has anyone else put a 1st generation Mark VIII front end on a 2nd generation Mark VIII?
I've got a 93 Mark VIII and later found it had been in a flood.
Found 98 Mark VIII that runs with slight front end (bumper, hood, fenders)damage. Normally I like cars in stock form. That being said I hate to see these beautiful cars scrapped. I love the Aero look, Large brake light and from what I've seen with other Fords it "should" work if I can accomidate the higher throttle body (Maybe a Shaker...)
I've restored a dozen Mustangs and this seems like a natural progression for a 42 year old man with a growing family.

everything will bolt right on except for the few slight differences in the radiator core support, the hood latches are a little different how they attach to the core, minus a tiny bit of welding and a few mods the whole nose will bolt right on, but you are doing it backwards!!! most would want a 2nd gen nose on a 1st gen mark! the headlights from a 1st gen are garbage.

I was talking to a fellow at Bonneville who said he did this to his sons car... wonder if it's the same guy?

He was also talking about chopping the top and doing some radical body work to the rear end. Had some interesting ideas.

There are quite a few floating around. They pop up on ebay and craigslist from time to time.

I think the 1st gen front end would be the better mix of the 2 generations.

I'd like to save the front end of my red Mark, for a conversion like that.:)
