After front conversion rear air not working

For the air ride module to work in this case, this is what I think needs to be done. I think you will need to have all the solenoids and ride height sensors connected to stop a hard fault. Then the module looks at the front height first, if the front height is correct, only then will it proceed to the rear.

Depending on the height of the front springs, you might have to adjust the sensors until they show the right height. If when you first key on, the front solenoids open, and the compressor turns on, that would mean the sensors need to be adjusted to show the front end is higher.

If when you first key on, the solenoids open and the vent clicks open, that would mean the sensors need to be adjusted to show the front end is lower.

If nothing happens to raise or lower the front when needed, it will throw the check air ride message and never make it to the rear.

My CE actually has springs on just the front right now. I take my good airsprings off while I store the car over the summer. The rear needs to be pumped up a bit now, I'll test my theory on it today hopefully. :)

I dont know how American Air could be held accountable since he's been out of business for months.
He just sold the stuff...middle-man.
Cases like this are why he quit.
Glad you got it solved...had I been active, I would have been of more assistance.
It's called "fooling the air ride module"....and it's been done. Now WE all know.

As for Strutmasters providing you with any shipping fees....dont hold your breath. Their customer service just doesnt exist.

I would think someone has figured this out by now after all these years.

Is AAS really closed up? I just visited their new website.

American Air isn't out of business near as I can tell but they are part of Strutmasters. I called AAS and they were no help either. In any case, it's all working fine now but no thanks to them!

Never liked the StrutMasters when i had them. They always bottomed easy and the springs where to high. If that makes any sense. Right side strut failed at around 20K, Oh yeah i know lifetime guarantee.
Yeah sure good luck with that one. No one has any clue down there anyways i did the conversion over. Via Kirk's thread that strut failing was the best thing that ever happened to me.
Glad you got it fixed Best of Luck!

Eddie must have sold his business to someone, and they retained the name...he's off to bigger and better things. He stated "credit card fraud, do-it-yourselfers who shouldn't" were the two biggest factors.
Can't say I blame him in this day and age... I think he's running a shipping business now (like shipping wars) using his big bad Ford truck.

Leo, thanks for sharing the "fix" so that others now know.
