Have you updated those drivers or use a different PC ? Both Bill's and Joe's Xcal3 had no problem connecting to two different Lenovos , so I have to think it's in the software on the PC side.

lol At which time... mlschultz reaches for the big red easy speed dial button and calls his favorite tuner...

Good luck with that JP! :)
Haha !!!! BTW, how is that new shift schedule working out ? Is it a full auto yet ?

lol What would I ever do without a tuner by my side. :)

Right now I have two versions of Aric and JW's "AutomaGic" tune that I am evaluating and switching between. One of them is very very close to being as good as it is gonna get for the street considering the way the trans and torque converter are built for this car. In other words, it becomes more of a mechanical issue to remedy my dislikes than the tune.

The big unknown is, what is it going to do at the track? I hope to have some answers this Friday night!

Being the pessimist that I tend to be with this subject at the track, I suspect the car will not be shifting at 7150 while in drive through the gears. Probably more in the 6-6500 range at best I am thinking. If et/mph suffer, I can always go back to manual shift if the shift points cannot be moved any further/closer to 7k without running into problems. We shall see... :)

I haven't had time as of yet. The most I was able to do was waste about 2 hours searching through the garage for the schrader valve for the fuel rail to attach a fuel pressure test gauge. Evidently, I hid it well... too well as a matter of fact.

BTW, I did figure out the blue and green wire connections from the Zietronix module. One is 0-5 VDC for the MAF signal and the other is the tach signal wire.

As a footnote to this thread, I finally got a chance to check the fuel pressure on the car.

Jeremi mentioned he had 'turned it down some' after finding the plugs fully fouled/flooded.

The fuel pressure when I checked it was at 58 psi! I was able to turn it down and adjusted the pressure to a near stock 42 psi which is where I remember it prior to the new fuel pump install. So it looks like the AFPR will handle the new pump but it definitely needed adjustment. Lesson learned.

I brought the work laptop home to hopefully be able to start tuning this weekend. ;)

I've got the old version of the software if you need it. It's v 6.3 and it's 54 MB, so I would need an ftp site or something to get it to you. I'm not sure if it would work on a later firmware version in a newer XCal3 though.

Thanks Bill. I have that older version... somewhere. I'll have to try to find it and try it out.

Lost in Translation
Watching this thread and the people in it brings 3 things to mind:

1) There are some dedicated and talented people here.
2) There is a wealth of knowledge being drawn from and generated.
3) I am glad to already be OBDII equipped!

Post Script: I am not worthy to be in such company!

No luck getting the little netbook to work with the SCT hardware, so I broke out the Dell M6700 from work and downloaded the software for the wideband and found a copy of SCT LiveLink 6.5. Now all I need to do is load up the Pro Racer Package and start studying.

Let the games begin! :)
