They are notorious for breaking so be prepared it could be on its way out. My went without any warning.

I would get on the phone to Max for a replacement and get it painted cause it sounds like you are almost there.

I'm headed out of town right after work today, but when I get back on Sunday I will take some pics of the handles and do some checking to see if they are the same from 94 to 98. Otherwise, I do have both handles and I know that they both work, but I honestly haven't paid much attention to how "tight" they feel. I'll check them out and get with you.

all handles interchange from 93-98 you just need to change the door lock cylinder those are different from 1st gen to 2nd gen.

uh oh, how much work does that entail? and cost? My handles are only broken at the cheap plastic part that goes into the door

well it seems plastic when I drilled through it to add a little pull on it to open it, it goes from handle to into door. Whats that made of?

the whole handle is pot metal, the only thing plastic on it is the ring around it between the handle and the door, and the plastic linkage pins that the linkage rods go through, otherwise the entire thing is metal, not plastic, and changing the cylinder doesnt cost anything, you take it out of the broken handle and pop it into the new handle!

The handles went out on UPS today. I left the tracking number at work, but on ground I imagine they should be there by Tuesday or so.
