Engine issues

My half shafts didn't want to come out either. Was a bit of a fight.
I learned that 28 spline diffs are drying up, fewer choices out there.
Your car should pick up some low end grunt.

Any other changes since your last outing?
Not yet anyways. I have a couple maintenance issues to resolve along with a set of drag brakes to install before I order some new wheels/tires. But I wanted to get the gears swapped before the season starts.

There's always a laundry list of modifications planned or in the works. It's a constant struggle with time and resources that necessitates shuffling of priorities. Then you have unexpected issues such as the discovery of the questionable differential.

And on top of that, I always seem to find a new leak when I'm under the car. This leak appears to be from the power steering unit.

The belt skipped off track after you put the Thump tensioner on? That doesn't seem right.
Yeah, the belt must've been one groove off on the PS or AC pulley without me noticing it. I was glad to have the foresight to crank it over without starting it. I was warned by the head wrangler at the Hot Rod shop to keep a close eye on the Thump tensioner. He's seen more than one come apart due to some QC issues in the past.

I think I'll keep the old tensioner and a spare belt in my go-bag.

Unfortunately, the Blue Flame is no longer a Power Tour candidate. For that, we'd have to put one of the GearVendors overdrives in. LOL

QC - "Quality Control "

Apparently they have seen them come apart? The ones they install now have the fasteners removed and lock tite applied. May or may not be applicable to our tensioners, just something to be aware of.
