HOTLNCs new owner will be CarsForKids

Well, after new O2 sensors and all the other minor fixes possible, HOTLNC is still failing emissions. After each part replacement or fix, the numbers are getting higher. That leaves the cats. With a motor that is still strong at 300K miles, I'm done spending money on it.

I'll be donating the Mark to Cars For Kids. I'm gong to include all the manuals and the spare parts I have also. At least the car will do some good at its end of life.

Maybe some one can do the high bid on it and take it to a state that does not have as critical emissions as does Texas.

I hope someone keeps it going, you had that car so long. After 300k miles you got what you could out of the cats. Did you price after market ones or used ones?

As far as I can tell, it is not legal to sell used cats in Texas. When I asked about it from "Car Recyclers" they laughed.

The aftermarkets would run 250 bucks each and maybe last 2 years. Maybe. I've also heard they last three months.

I wouldn't think of TX as having a particularly difficult emissions test... ?

Why do I get emotional about a car? Now that I upgraded the truck, I gotta sell an even older friend --Big Bad Blue
