does anyone else have a 93 mark (driller i know you have the exact same car as me)that randomly cuts out (like you cut the key off and back on really fast) while driving the tach bottoms out and the car loses all power for the brief moment any ideas would be helpful it has almost got me t-boned twice

Sounds electrical to me. Wiring pinched somewhere, or maybe a failing alternator?

Check all of the regular connections, (battery, alternator, grounds) I know with my addco front sway bar I ran into some pinching issues with the harness for the crank position sensor that did something similar..

if it stalls while your foot is on the accelerator pedal, its not IAC. because there is still air going into the engine via the throttle plates.
if it does it randomly while driving and while idling, i'm not a fan of the TPS either. cuz that would mean it has failed in multiple places, and somehow messes with the tach bottoming it out? (i assume he means more than the normal rpm drop while the engine has no power for a few seconds)

like tixer, i think its electrical. wiring. alternator. pcm. power to pcm. battery terminals. something along those lines.

ok i have changed the cps the iac and the maf and the problem still exists and its not the alternator as i have just replaced it two weeks ago

what brand alternator did you use? a new motorcraft? or a box store reman? i've had remans be bad straight out of the box more than once.

Replacing the CPS isn't going to remedy a pinched wire or poor connection in the circuit. Typically, if the CPS has failed, it's failed. It won't be intermittent. A problem in that circuit on the other hand...

Break out your multimeter and watch continuity while wiggling/jostling the CPS wires.

I would replace the CPS harness connector. Cut, splice and solder in a new pigtail.
this: mine failed a few inches back from the plug. Due to the plastic shroud on the cable, it didn't even look that bad, but it was visibly damaged. The wires inside however, were crushed.
