I drive a white Mercury Grand Marquis. In Arizona. This happens a lot, luckily my wife parks by ear, so every corner and entire front bumper has character marks.
White? check
LS? check
tear drop wheels with serrated sidewall tires? check
windshield sun shade? check
tinted windows? check (but...hmm, this one doesn't seem as dark)
missing paint from bumper? nope, this one isn't mine
upon closer viewing it has beige pin striping (which means it has beige interior, mine is grey)
Probably doesn't have 295,000 miles on it either

Before I read your post, I did a double-take to make sure that wasn't copy-pasted in Photoshop or something... :D

Time to invest in a roof-top bike rack.. Trouble with that car, is that I have yet to find one that doesn't require drilling holes...

Well here goes nothing. Provided it stays together, I'll have an updated timeslip for this car tomorrow. Taking Big Red to Wednesday night drags at Brainerd International Raceway. No knock at 17 degrees of timing and AF ratios spot on all the way through the end of the tach. I'll likely be crossing the traps darn near 7000rpms. The rods are a concern. Boost pressure in this warmer weather peaks at 9 psi on the shift. The weight loss calculations thus far puts it at an 11.995 on the previous pump gas setup. Temperatures will be similar to last year's passes but I expect a more aggressive footbrake with the bigger brakes out back and new pads and rotors all around. The E85/meth and more aggressive shift points will take it the rest of the way now with the fuel weight right over the rear axles. I only need about 5 tenths or so for the boot. After examining datalogs and MAF data the tuner estimated 465-475rwhp.

Good luck, that is awesome! I remember Lightning guys wanting to get kicked out of the track for running over what they had safety equipment for, then being bummed when they achieved their goal. As for me, they stopped telling me to stop drinking coffee on my runs, not much happens when it takes 16 seconds to cover the 1/4 mile.

Hmm.. I'm interested to see where you're going with this......
cams, forged internals, and lots more compression. then nitrous. i'm sure i'll continue with updates. we all love pictures around here.

What intake is on that 5.4? Did someone build a reasonable car intake for the 5.4, or is it a modified 4.6 intake?
thats a HPS hardballr. quite rare as it turns out. its kind of like a victor jr but wider. it might get traded for a stretched vic jr if we like the torque curve of the vic better.

You're kidding aren't you Mike? VW has more torque .... but I wanted MPG. The first go-round with an EPA fix removed the MPG advantage from the VW. I was lucky to get 38MPG after that. First run with the MKZ it was 43.7 over 1500 miles. MKZ rides better...feels more solid. Better seats and electronics. And on and on and on!
