Terrible pic but I installed LED 'switchback' light bulbs in the front turn signals on the '96. Also, I outlined the upper edge of the LSC headlamp with LED PlasmaGlow Lightning Eyes but the light is washed out in the pic.

The LED switchback bulbs double as daytime running lights and are surprisingly bright.

The project has inspired me to switch all the lamps to LEDs, both interior and exterior. So far the hardest part has been finding the flasher to replace it with the electronic version compatible with the LEDs.

Looks real good, JP. I'm glad to see one of us doing this first... :) I've been watching the development of "bright enough" LEDs for a while now, and I'm glad to see it looks like they've got 'em right.

I'll have to look up your "switchback" bulbs. that's interesting.

The 'switchback' LED bulbs simply switch from constant white to flashing amber when you use the turn signal or emergency flashers. They basically function the same as the standard dual filament incandescent bulb.

I have always had a dislike for the amber bulb in the clear lens of the LSC housing, so for years I have used the stealth chrome finish bulbs just for aesthetics. The LED bulb has a white appearance when off and do not distract the eye so much as does the amber bulb. But when on, the bright white light is so much better than amber lamps.
