2000 Grand Marquis at 310,000 miles is just a liability at this point, being a daily driver and keeping up with what is breaking just became too much. I picked it out (in 2001, so...I think we got our use out of it), so this car was my wife's choice. She wanted a Rav4, but about 4,000 more, and just something about them I don't like, so I steered her towards the Escape. 2017 Escape SE, 2001a package with Sync 3 (and Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, FordPass with remote start from phone), halogen projectors. It had the navigation and power rear door, which I didn't want but got them to drop 1000 off the price. 1.5l Ecoboost, the 2.5 is noisy and raucious for the little amount of oomph it has off the line. I couldn't justify a Titanium, or the 2.0 Ecoboost. I didn't want a little SUV, the Fusion with the 2l Ecoboost was a much quieter and nicer car, this Escape is noisier than my worn out Grand Marquis. Makes me miss the axle bearing wearing through the axle. Lots of road noise, but it is a little disposable SUV (twice as expensive as my 1 year old Grand Marquis in 2001) so time will tell.
