Squeaky Rear Window

Anybody else have this problem? On cold days my rear window moves and squeaks and makes a noticeable amount of noise while driving. I can push slightly on areas along the top of the window and the frequency of the squeaking changes. Turning on the rear defrost helps a little but doesn't completely make it go away. My Cougar had a similar issue but to a more tolerable extent. Anybody find a solution? if even temporary.
Thanks.

I guess now would be the perfect time to do that since I have most of the interior out of the car. I can put a bead along the whole inside where the window meets the body and try to smooth it out/push it in further with my finger. Or is there anything I should do/buy to get it to go further under the glass?

You could get the urathane (sp?) that's used to install winshields. It comes in a tube like caulking. You could make a small enough hole in the end of it and using a caulking gun put enough pressure on the tube to for it into the voids of the window channel. It works well this is how we fixed the problem on some NEW saturns when I worked at the dealership!! Make sure you have some thinner or mineral spirits to clean up any mess.

Just finnished pumping the 3M Window Weld to it... Either tomorrow or the next day I'll see if it helped. Thanks.

EEEE sounds like that could fix it. I was gonna suggest installing a small wedge of sorts before sealing it.

yup didn't quite work, seemed like a good idea and was worth a try but it's still squeaking, I think a small wedge on the passenger side might have helped, I've don't that before on different things but I wasn't really sure about putting outward pressure on the window.

we did the above on tiffs 93 that when you closed the door you could SEE the window hop up out of the car.

Yes but if anything went wrong it would cost more to replace the window than my car is worth... probably paying somebody to remove and reseal my window would exceed the value of the car. I thought I'd make one low budget attempt at trying to make it slightly less annoying.
