And that's that. Thanks to all who attended, and who may be reading this. I had a great time, and met some fantastic people. It is easy to see why SSHS is such a good match for the Lincolns of Distinction. Everyone I met there was welcoming, helpful, and friendly. Those Impala guys party just as hard as we do, and I wouldn't have passed tech without a pile of zip-ties one of them provided. :D It was great to finally meet Norm in person, and Mike's detailed advice on the finer points of bracket racing was both illuminating, and gave me the confidence to actually give it a go.

What a unique, well-organized event.

A big thanks as well to the club itself, whose sponsorship of this fine event covered my entry, as well as Norm's.

I'll see y'all next year.

Thanks to Mike, Norm, and Gina for attending their first SSHS! I hope it's not your last! :) It was great spending time with y'all, and I look forward to the next time we get together! :)

Here's another video, from my opponent Max's point of view. This is the 12.0 Index qualifying round.

Thanks to everyone who contributed/submitted themselves and their rides to this, and to those who took the videos and pictures! If I were to individually thank everyone responsible, I would be clicking for a week!

This coverage makes me want to be there for next year, and to go out and get busy on my ride. After the move and i get squared away (both physically and financially), it will be work time for the car. :)

Makes me sad I missed it. Boy, that pro tree looks tough. I also forgot how cold it got there at night. :)

Personally, if y'all haven't noticed yet, this event is very special to me, and I look forward to it every year - like a family reunion! :)

I have more racing action videos to post, and this next one is our very own Tixer getting it done! :)

*A HUGE THANKS to my darling wife Wendy, and WENDYVISION (tm) for all the hard work on the photography, and all these videos! :) She is a real trouper, and year after year (this year the shootout fell on her birthday - Nov 2), she battles the elements to capture the moment for Team LOD to enjoy! :)

Thanks, I will let her know. :)

Sorting through the photo album, I think I might want to enter these for consideration into the LOD calender. I also really like Tixer's photo of my win in the finals

Here is a link to more photo's. There's a couple good ones of Tixer and I helping out multiple time Big Dog winner John R. push his car into the trailer after it snapped a u joint during a qualifying run
 to the Gixxer chick ;)

Thank you everyone for the event coverage!

Just checking in. As of a few moments ago, I am now home, safe and sound. I left Georgia at 5:15 Eastern, and pulled into my driveway at 9:15 Central. 1,102 miles, door to door, for a trip total of just under 2654 miles. (I took the scenic route on the way down.) This includes mileage of 8 runs at that track, too. :D

The car gave me only one problem this entire trip. A failed ASHAM8 that now immediately bottoms out the rear suspension. I had to bypass it, and run at goofy-looking stock height.. The car got 25.0 mpg on the way down, and 23.8 on the way up. Mostly because somewhere in the middle of Illinois, I said "this is boring" and went 85 for a while.. Like, most of the state. This is a trend that basically continued after that point to varying ends.

In typical Minnesota style, I had snow for the last hour or so of my drive.. This may well mark the end of Mark VIII season for me. Not a bad year, all in all.

Glad you made it home safely Mike. It was great meeting you after all these years. I hope you are able to make it again next year.
