People need to take a step back. If you have a problem, use the alert button, don't take matters into your own hands.

We have plenty of moderators here, and no I'm not thrilled about the "idiot" comments, but they didn't seem to be directed at anyone in particular and appear to be trying to warn people to be careful, in not so PC terms.

can we all get back on track now? why is everyone so hostile lately, seems more and more threads are turning into small battles, is there really a reason for it? where is the holiday mood come everyone grab the egg nog and booze and relax lol!!!!

Logres, I did not call you an idiot. I said that anyone who tries this is an idiot, and if you do in fact decide to try to suck gasoline using a wet dry vacuum, I will abstain from using the words "idiot" or "dumbass" in your funeral thread.

I am using harsh words in this thread because of the topic. Anyone who attempts to siphon fuel with a wet dry vacuum is at serious risk of injury or death, and I don't want the club, or myself as president, to incur any liability over such completely absurd advice. I would be negligent if I read such a thread and did not clearly and strongly advise against the action in question.

I never said I did it (use a wet vac) i said good idea,and if you use a clear tube and finger read at end of it to kink it, realistically its ok. wet vacs are under a VACUUM EXPLOSIONS ARE IMPOSSIBLE ITS CALLED AN IMPLOSION AND IS NOT REALISTICALLY DOING TO HAPPEN ! even if I did use a wet vac im sure your club wont be liable, for f*** sake. Driller thanks for your wiki post, i went there because i knew you would wiki it. First all I use a proxy for all internet activities. Go wiki that next and copy and paste in to a quote. And Good luck with finding any information on this IP address. I said i would not do it but when people call people names , it really bothers me. Especially someone who is a "president" . I think you can choose your wording better and not let your little forum "authority" go straight to your head.

I want to go on to say goodbye, I am leaving for a more populated forum with nicer people in it. And I think driller, JP, J, and trixie are the most helpful people here and im sorry to bothered you all. I will log in here and there but im not going to be a major member in this forum, anymore. Thanks for all the past help.

If you are arguing pressure vs vacuum then you have no understanding of theissue at hand.

Let's assume that no gasoline ever enters the vac. Still, as soon as you start sucking, gas vapors are drawn through the vacuum hose, into the vacuum, and out through the fan, through the motor because these vacs use that air to cool the motor. Now you have a can full of a fuel vapor mixed with oxygen. And you're drawing this highly explosive mixture through the body of a motor that was not designed to prevent spark or ignition, a motor full of dirt, a motor that WILL throw a spark sooner or later.

Pressure is completely irrelevant. If you don't understand why, you should seek an understanding of absolute vs gage pressure and go from there.
