Im sure, i almost felt bad doing it in the first place, lol. I looked at it like this, theirs MK T, MK Z, MK S, now there is an MK 8; like there should be.

Maybe the "MK" nomenclature is better for the current naming convention after all.. Still, I always kinda preferred just plain "Zephyr"

The MK names are just a ripoff of the Mark name. They have 4 doors and are not as stylish as the Marks were.

Why anyone would want to call the Mark VIII a MK8 is beyond me.

It's your car though, you can call it anything you want.

WHAT EVER MAN!! lol, I am determined to have this back on the market!

I like to think that the new MK..."what ever", is a throw back to the best thing that ever came out of Michigan. All the same im not sure how much longer im gong to keep all those letters on the car. Im going to have the car repainted at Parks Lincoln of Longwood, and im going to pull off the rag top. Im worried about what im going to find under it, lol. Does anyone have a good deal on a bucket or two of bondo? lol.

I'm super curious myself, so please take pictures. :thumbsup: I'm kind of guessing you'll find paint under there, but a series of holes around the edges for the screws / rivets / what ever.. Since you're in florida, I'm kind of assuming that things will be in good shape overall.. If you look through the back-seat windows from the inside, are they partially covered by the roof? or does the roof just cut by the edge? It looks like it could go either way..

Oh wow so it looks like they just quite literally covered up the top with venial. Thank you for the photos. I suspected as much after seeing th passenger door piece about to come off. its Held in my a couple screws, and under it paint.

The car originally came from New York, im thinking its gonna look about the same as yours if not worse, ill be sure to take lots of photos.

If the rest of the Mark is in great shape, I'd remove it and have a body shop fix the paint.

I don't think they are that ugly I just don't like the idea of a cancer farm under there.

Exactly, thats my main concern also. The cover is growing on me, but again, i cringe on what may be underneath, lol.
