I was thinking about mounting it where the power stearing cooler is and have it at a angle and make a few more holes in the bumper to get air to it but I still don't think it would get very good air flow there

I had a Ford one installed by the dealer, it was installed from the top outside the condenser, the kit came with brackets.

I have mine mounted behind the bumper.

I mounted it with nylon ties temporarily until I was satisfied it performed at the location selected. I have since mounted it more securely but not attached to the bumper cover.

Keep in mind you want the trans fluid to get up to temp as well, keeping it around 180 deg is good, you don't want it to stay too cool. In the spot of the Ford one it gets air from the grill and can take advantage of the cooling fan.

I want with the big daddy try cool cause I was driving it the other day and the tranny fluid got very hot so hot you couldn't touch it and the tranny defaulted to 2nd gear and when I stopped and let it cool down for a few hours I went to try it again and it was doing just fine

I put my cooler in way back in 1998, because I got the trans shutter. The dealer changed out the fluid to Mecon V and the 1 to 2 piston under warranty, but per the TSB they could only put in the cooler in hot weather states so I paid for that. Years later I put in a shift kit. I sold my 97 mark VIII last year with 162K hard miles, lots of track passes, and WOT from stops, with the original trans still going very strong.

So I wonder if you got stuck in 2nd if you are not having other issues.

Well when it cooled down everything went back to normal so I figured out a trans cooler and see what happens and hope for the best I just got done doing a shift kit and I think that was y I was getting a lot of heat cause there is no telling how old the radiator is or how much cheap is in it slowing down the fluid

And I ain't drove it since all that happened its not my daily car I had to take the valve body off after I put it on the first time it wouldn't take 3rd. Gear I think I was getting cross fluid transfer cause when I put it back together I made sure to torque all the bolts the same well when I went to add the fluid back I had 9 quarts of tranny fluid that I had to drain the first time I did it so I got paint strainers and strained the fluid back into the tranny cause that fluid was only a month old from where I changed it like a month before I did the shift kit

That is exactly where I want mine at driller what does your tranny temp run?
It's been a long time since I've seen it but I recall seldom seeing it over 180 degrees. When I am not at the track it barely gets to 180. Since the new 4200 stall converter, I've seen it hit 200 after a burnout and launch at the track.
