+1 - By removing that 3rd cat, putting an x-pipe in place, then running dual 2.5'' piping back to the mufflers it'll sound real good. If you want loud then you could just take the mufflers off yourself and drive around for a few days or a week and see how you like it. If you don't like it all you need to do is get your mufflers welded back on, that way you didn't re-do a whole exhaust and not like it. I got most of this info from reading a million different exhaust theads here on LOD and over at LVC.The center muffler is actually a 3rd CAT. Many have removed it. You will want to put an X,H, or X-pipe muffler in its place. There are many threads on exhaust modifications.
HAHA good point Isaac!Congrats on your nice smooth and flat back window gasket.
that must sound like a beast. i want headers but the $845 price tag isn't for me, atleast now anyways lol. soon i want to have an x-pipe put in, dual 2.5'' piping and maybe dynomax race bullets idk yet. i want it to be louddeleting the rear mufflers doesn't make the car too loud. I ran mine that way for years. It's actually louder now WITH mufflers... of course I have headers, no cats, an x-pipe and high flow mufflers.
If you retain the stock manifolds, I've heard of guys gutting the cats.that must sound like a beast. i want headers but the $845 price tag isn't for me, atleast now anyways lol. soon i want to have an x-pipe put in, dual 2.5'' piping and maybe dynomax race bullets idk yet. i want it to be loud
You want loud?? Just unbolt the exhaust right behind the 3rd cat. That'll be loud. Guarantee you'll be under there bolting the exhaust back up in 2 days. At least I was. LOL. That was what I did first, but it was deafening in the car. Then me and my buddy hacked the rear mufflers off right where it goes into the Y. The dynomax bullets aren't much muffler at all. They're actually made for round track cars trying to meet db requirements. So if you want loud, then that'd be loud. Borla's are nice sounding mufflers. Flowmasters are ok... if you don't mind sounding like all the mustangs out there. :fartthat must sound like a beast. i want headers but the $845 price tag isn't for me, atleast now anyways lol. soon i want to have an x-pipe put in, dual 2.5'' piping and maybe dynomax race bullets idk yet. i want it to be loud
this was when I was younger and dumber. 6 years ago dumber... lol. and poorer!!!You want loud?? Just unbolt the exhaust right behind the 3rd cat. That'll be loud. Not really... louder than stock, yes but the cats do a pretty good job at muffling.do you think it'll be loud with stock manifolds, all 3 cats and factory midpipe, no resonator, 2 to 1 to 2 catback 2.25'' piping and dynomax race bullets ?
Ah. yeah i know they quiet down the exhaust which sucks. What if i get the 3rd cat removed, x pipe put in place, true dual 2.5'' piping out to the dynomax race bullets? it'll be a lot louder than stock right? Not really... louder than stock, yes but the cats do a pretty good job at muffling.
It'll be the best you could hope for though I would go with SS Magnaflows vs. the DynoMax race bullets. What if i get the 3rd cat removed, x pipe put in place, true dual 2.5'' piping out to the dynomax race bullets? it'll be a lot louder than stock right?
