Washer Fluid Check Valve

There is a check valve in the washer fluid line immediately after the pump. This check valve has failed in my 96 DA. Does anyone know the part number, or know of a generic replacement part that I can use to replace mine?

TIA!

The check valve isn't in the manual and it isn't mentioned on alldatadiy.com.

Here's what it looks like:

And here's the entire assembly:

If the check valve is left off, washer fluid flows directly into the line. The pump does nothing to stop it. I could probably leave it off, but I don't want to risk the fluid freezing in the line when the car sits outside during freezing weather.

I remember the manual saying the reservoir would drain if the washer fluid line was disconnected. You really shouldn't be concerned with freezing with windshield washer fluid.

As far as the check valve, I would try searching Grainger or McMaster Carr for a suitable replacement?

Well, I put it together without the check valve this evening.

I'll tell you one other thing that the check valve must do.....reduce the power from the pump. Holy cow! Washer fluid on the windshield, roof, rear window and garage ceiling.
