What did you do to your Town Car today?

If you drive out today in the VeeDub, I'll outfit it with a roof rack and some fancy stickers. You can drive right behind me. it'll be just like Le Tour De France. We'll have Joe in the back seat refilling my water bottles with "energy drinks"

Yesterday, actually. But I put my bike in the trunk, and drove the car to and from the Minnesota Ironman bicycle ride. We had sunshine, 80 degree weather, and high winds. a stark contrast from just a few days ago. Well, except for the wind..

Edit: for the record, that beer happened at about 9AM.

Very cool, my brother and father in law were doing that. I remmeber last year it was 30 degrees and raining. Are you signed up for the MS150?

BTW, I'm takeing a chance and threw on my summer wheels......its's suposed to snow tomorrow. FML.

I won't be doing the MS-150 this year I'm afraid, it conflicts with a friend's wedding that I dare not miss. (I'm in it.)

And that's not even the worst part...

For the first time ever, MS-150 weekend (which I don't particularly mind missing) is the same as Carlisle weekend. (which I do very much mind missing..)

I just figured this out a couple days ago, and I'm angry about it. 'cause I really can't miss this wedding. :(

Bought one of these a while back and paid for the "Torque" app on my Galaxy S3. I mainly got it for the OBD II code reader but after using it, itis a neat little toy. Reads all the codes, tells you what all the sensors are doing, tracks MPG and trips, HP, TQ and does data logging.

So I finally got it hooked up to my phone (VIA Bluetooth) and figured out why I have been having a bad idle on the TC (cyl 3 misfire). So hopefully one of my spare coils can fix it.

Not a bad little $29 investment.

A couple friends of mine have these and really like 'em. I've held off, mostly because I have a "regular" code-reader. a reader like that + an android phone does make a very powerful tool though. it'll read all the individual sensors, much like an SCT X3 does.

fair warning for the Apple fans. last time I checked, there was no support for iStuff.

I popped both door panels on the 93.

the plastic lugs on the control devices are all broken , and the panel itself was barely hangin' in there..... I'm thinking i'm going to douse the whole backside of the panel with hot glue, after i take the switches apart and clean all the contacts (they work , but fell out of place)...... there is no manual door lock pin (but the lock works ok) on the passenger door , the lock is broken and just winds out when you put it in gear ...i either need to fix it , or disconnect the motor. that one has a lever.

door speakers on the 93 appear to be standard 5x7's

my 95 has been low on external mirror fluid (really) for years, at first it was just a joke,
but now the lower it goes, the hazier the mirror gets.
i have a parts car, and know i can swap out the whole unit , but i dunno about just the glass .....(a blue mirror would look silly on a bronze car) any ideas?

A spray can and a buffer will do a good job on changing the cooler of the mirrors. I had to do that on my mark. They were pearl and mad the Garnett red.

Almost enticing.... Hey Joe, whadayathink?
My "sports drink" is 1/3 vodka, 1/3 OJ, and 1/3 yellow of clear Gatorade
(since they taste the same)... :D

Just FYI... :D

The entire institution of marriage is archaic, and you should vehemently instruct your friends not to bother...

Which for the record, I can't tell you how many times I have done that...

Changed out the coil and boot on the #3 cyl because of a #3 cyl misfire code. Now I have a misfire on #6 cyl and when I pulled the plug out there was oil all over the plug (#3). The car runs a little better now but still misses. I did recently do an oil change and I'm wondering if I put to much oil in.

And I think this is the corect cyl numbering...at least thats what I went by

Hummmm...I still have a cyl 3 misfire, I guess I'm going to try another spare coil and if that faults out, I will be diving into my EVTM book.

i got my door panels on my 93 back on ...... the passenger door lock was a broken pin. (i just removed the wire to the motor)..... my passenger door lock is strictly mechanical old school now. cleaned all the switches and controls and screwed them back together into the broken old bezels, then i hot glued the crap out of them..... when and if they come loose again , they need new bezels anyways....i also took of a cloth trim panel with loose cloth and hot glued that together too....

so far so good...... thats when i noticed my front right side turn lens was broken....i spent over two hours pulling both lights , and then the one from the 95 parts car....... they are WAY different.......=[

i guess that bridge was too far for today.....

i topped off all the fluids on the 95
been putting a LOT of miles on it lately

Interesting. How "way" different are the lights? So different they don't even fit?

Keep piling on those miles. "free" miles always feel good. :D

yeah , the hole in the fender is like five inches wide on the 95 and 7 on the 93 ... measurements are guesstimated , but they were so much that i should have seen it before taking it apart .....
not to mention the extra bolt that holds on the 93 ones .....so i'm guessing that the only way they would work would be an entire nose swap

280k plus its been about 50k since i shoehorned the mustang gt third member under it , screwing up the count.

292, is probably closer to the truth

I like this idea...

292,000 is darn good. I finally gave up on the '86 at 330,000, and that was my choice, not the car's.
