wire connections on svt focus pump

What is my best method crimp connections or solder and heat shrink my concern is will the electrical terminals deteriorate from the gasoline

I'm a firm believer in solder and heat-shrink... No idea how the tubing handles fuel fumes though... I'd guess it's more reliable than a crimp connector

How have people connected the pump harness to the OE harness in the past I am a little worried of having a short. How does the insulation hold up in the tank with the tube connections

All of the above...

"Tin" the wire end with solder before inserting into the crimp connector.

Use the heat shrink crimp terminal connectors that seal the connection from oxidation.


Get a HD ratcheting crimp tool rather than the cheesy parts store brand.
