76 Bicentennial License Plate Tags

Those aren't "official" tags though. That is, they don't bear the official Bicentennial logo.

I have several of these, mostly from my NH plates of the day as well as frames and other tags.

The US Bicentennial celebrations in 1976... the 200th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. It was a pretty big deal too. On July 4 1976 there was a tall ship parade on the Hudson along with a battleship and other Naval vessels. It was some show to watch.

My Dad's house was in NJ on the Palisades directly opposite mid-town Manhattan with a view of the river and Manhattan from the George Washington Bridge to the Statue of Liberty, it was some impressive view. Yesterday's emergency landing into the river took place exactly across from his house. JP and Tammy know the spot, Steve took them to the park in Weehawken which is a block from my Dad's house.
