AHHH COME ON MIDWEST

RE: AHHH COME ON MIDWEST

Hey Manny,

I was out your way this past weekend looking for trouble but couldn't find anything but some young kid in an Eagle Talon. Drove down Harlem to Archer to Central down to Ogden and back again but nothing to be found. I was kind of depressed. I grew up around that area and use to know the local hangouts but it didn't seem like much was going on. The race with the Talon was funny though. I was driving my Camaro (Yes I still have my Marks) and I let the guy get two car lengths in front of me. I floored it and sent the car sidways in second. I'm not sure if he got scared or what because once the tires finally caught I passed him up like he was parked. Where's the real action at?!

Yeah Dave, its pretty scarse down Archer now, except for some days. It seems like the hottest days bring out the ricers..... I've had a few run ins with the 'Stang, but everyone thinks I have a supercharger (actually the gear to gear whine) so they back off. I've seen people hang out a little south of there on 71st and Harlem. Mary's Kitchen.....or something like that, people in muscle cars hang out in the parking lot sort of like the old Dukes Drive in. As far as street racing....I don't see much. Oh, and Chicago is in the process of passing a law where they will either take your car or just impound your car for street racing.

City cranks up efforts to halt illegal drag racing:[Chicago Final Edition]
Sabrina L Miller, Tribune staff reporter. Chicago Tribune. Chicago, Ill.: Sep 3, 2003. pg. 4
Abstract (Article Summary)
If the full council approves the measure Thursday, Chicago will become the latest city to crack down on drag racers by impounding their vehicles. Dozens of cities have enacted anti-drag racing laws in response to fatalities, and [Edward Burke] said he modeled Chicago's legislation after San Diego's. That city reported a significant decrease in drag-racing deaths since toughening laws.

I want the 'Stang!!!

Its funny that you mentioned the whine because my Camaro has a supercharger on it but it sounds like a vacuum leak. I'm thinking about going to the track in a week or so, what do you think. Up for it?

hahaha, given my awesome results at the track last time (couldn't hook and couldn't break 14sec), I think your Camaro would eat me up. I'm still up for it sometime....Route 66? What year Camaro and what color, I want to steer clear of that on Archer. haha

RE: AHHH COME ON MIDWEST

'95 purple convertible! Never been to Rt66 but I'm up for it.

Note to self, don't mess with any purple Camaro convertibles. haha
I'm gonna search for info on RT66. I've been up to Great Lakes twice and both times I spent too much time waiting.

RE: AHHH COME ON MIDWEST

Actually I have plans Saturday night. What did you have in mind and where? Maybe next Sat., the 27th. Maybe get Brad and Jon involved, they're always cruising Archer anyway. ;-)

RE: AHHH COME ON MIDWEST

Didn't have anything in mind except getting into a little trouble! Maybe I'll see if I can find Brad and Jon this weekend!

Ha Ha Nice Manuel.

Archer Ave. Is my Territory.

If you are out here late at night, You'll get tons of races in.

Funny ricers and Mustangs everywhere.

We should all go cruising one night, See how many we could get in.

P.S. - Couple nice Camaros , Trans Am's, and a wicked SC GTP ( Has IMPULSE Racing sticker on back window) Beautiful Ride.

And if you ever go past Dominics Parking lot ( Archer Ave. Just Past Central Ave., You'll fine tons of rides there. Bunch of ricers go up there to hang out. Seen alot of Camaros and Trans Ams there too.

Just a Little Info.

Dominick's parking lot? hmmmm, only seen a few rides up there but how late you talking? I'm in bed by 10pm on school nights.
Now that you mention it, I've seen a lot of people gather at the Burger King on Pulaski just south of I-55. Lot of bikes and ricers.
Anyone up for Wings this Friday? Hooters on Cicero just north of 95th.

RE: AHHH COME ON MIDWEST

I'd love to but can't this weekend, planning on driving south to visit the daughter. Count me in for next time though. First round is on me!

I haven't really paid much attention to what's out there on Archer, Jon. But I have noticed a few Mustangs. Mustang guys stick together..... I'll keep an eye out for these other cars. Where do you hang out? I'll take a cruise tonight after the Cubs game see if I spot any of these guys.
