fuel filter

My uncle's pristine 93 midnight opal Mark VIII has only 36,000 miles on it. I have helped him change all the fluids/filters except the fuel filter is still stock... are fuel filters affected by age or just mileage, would it be worth it to change it at this point?

Yes, sediments accumulate with time. I would change it out. The gen 1s are a bit more annoying to change because of the connector style, make sure to get the $10 disconnect tool from your local wal-mart, or the same $20 tool from your local friendly and cheap auto-parts store.

The aren't affected by "age" per say...but the age of the fuel DEFINITALLY affects it because the longer fuel sits, the more varnish/build up you're going to get which the fuel filter will pick up.

I would say change that thing for sure!

I did mine in 10 minutes.....just jack up the pass side of the car, you don't need to remove the wheel. Ofcourse I have 10K worth of tools, lol, so I always have the right thing for the right time.

LOL....damn straight! Actually, one of my HOT friends was rubbing lotion on my back so I wasn't paying attention.(pssh I wish) In a day, I'll look like I had been surfing all day, haha.
