i have a 96 (style) cobra intake and IMRC's for my mark. what do i need to do to bolt this deal on my motor? do i use the cobra imrc's or so i stay with my stock lincoln ones? if i use the cobra imrc's im guessign i will need the lincoln lower gaskets and the cobra uppers right or are they all the same? dont i also need the cobra throttle body and cable? what else do i need to make it work? can i buy a tuner to get rid of the EGR stuff so i dont have to re route it?

thanks guys david

The 93-96 Mark VIII IMRC's are completely different from the Cobra. You need to get the Cobra gaskets for the Cobra intake manifold.

Also, yes you need the Cobra throttle body and cable and intake tube. Get the JLT RAI for the 96-98 Cobra, fits great and flows the best. You can delete the EGR and have it turned off with a chip.

is there any way i can make the stock mark throttle cable work? so i can save a little cash if there is any way to make it work im sure i can do it unless it just to short to reach.

would a throttle body from a DOHC 5.4 from a 2003 navi work on the cobra intake?

PS: i have a navi long block for sale if any one wants it. it is complete except the heads but the intake is included. it has about 85K miles on it and came from a running navi make me a offer if yal want it

I would love to grab that motor from you but have no way to get it! lol

You would just have to line it up and check, not sure about it though.

i could probley meet you half way but you dont have any way to get it the rest of the way home do you? im sure shipping would cost more then the motor is worth. i also have 3 mark motors here too all complete and all but one runs. the sucky part is the one that does not run is the one thats in my car. i do have one that i just took out of my wrecked parts car its complete from the ECU to the tranny it runs with no smoke with 146K (i think) miles on it.

The lower gaskets will work on on either intake. I use the Mark VIII gaskets because they are thinner than the cobra's and help with hood clearance. You need a cobra throttle cable and bracket.

If you have a navigator intake I will buy that off of your.

interesting fact that i just found out. the 2000 cobra R motor mounts will lower the motor by 12MM and bolt in like stock. i have never tried to but a Eaton blower in a mark before but i have heard that they hit the stock hood. maybe with the cobra R mounts lowering the motor almost 1/2" might help this some. that 1/2" plus the "K" member shims might just be enough but like i said i have never done it so i dont know how much extra room you need for the Eaton.

the shorter mounts should help lower the center of gravity and should help the car handle better.

Eaton fits fine under stock 2nd gen hood. My two cars are a living proof of that.

Care to elaborate on those cobra R mounts ? I highly doubt they are even close to fit like stock ?

what do i need to do to get the cobra IMRC's to work with my vacc actuators? Is it even possible to make them work right? can i just get the cobra cable actuator and make it work with my harness?

Swap the shafts from the m8 plates to the cobra plates, keeping the rest of the stuff, OR wire the IMRC solenoid to provide ground for the cobra imrc controller.

the mount that the vacc deal is in wont bolt onto the cobra imrc's. they both have 2 bolts in them but are at diffrent angles. on the cobra ones the bolts are stright up and down and the mark ones are at a angle.

if i can get it figured out in the next few days or if its gonna cost a bunch of money to make it work ill just put the stock mark intake on it and save the cobra intake for my next motor. i know people have put cobra intakes on the marks so it can be done i just need one person to chime in with what they did or what they had the shop do to make it work.

another thing only 10 out of the 20 bolt holes in the intake will line up on the cobra imrc's will this hurt anything? the ones that dont line up cant be drilled because there is no metal to drill into where the holes should be. im guessing the cobras only had 10 bolts and they were fine right?

ok never mind the whole cobra intake deal cuz i still need a throttle body and throttle cable. i dont have the money for it right now or the time to wate on it to get here. so ill just keep my intake and collect parts whenever i can find them cheep and put the intake on my next motor maybe
