A glass truck took off the front bumper of my work car, '97 Gran Marquis, yesterday, so I had to pick up a rental. My Lincoln/Mercury dealer already had a guy there to pick me up when I drove the GM into the shop, so I was taken to Enterprise and they gave me a 2005 Buick LeSabre saying it was an "equal" vehicle to the Gran Marquis.
I guess their idea of "equal" is sure different than mine....probably "equal" in size, I guess.
I would much rather drive my 1997 Gran Marquis than that new LaSabre!! First of all, I HATE front wheel drive. That car is so underpowered I can't believe it. When I got it home, I had to see what was powering (?) it. It was a little 3.6 (?) liter (V6?)! I see why it is underpowered! The only things I liked about the car was the room it has(Great leg room in the front)and .....ummm can't think of anything else. Oh, I did like the radio controls on the steering wheel, but HATED the automatic volume control. When you get to a certain speed, the radio volume goes up for some reason. Must be General Motors must think their cars are noisy at speed...and then it lowers the volume when you slow down. I was forever readjusting the volume. I hate computers doing certain things for me, esp. when it can't do it right. Supposed to get my GM back Friday...can't wait!!!
